LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It seems Prince Harry is dealing with the inevitable fate of his hairline, though it appears he’s not quite ready to embrace his balding future.

According to Radar Online, the 40-year-old prince's recent appearance in London for the WellChild Awards had many zeroing in on his thinning hair.

While Harry has always been known for his signature red locks, the back of his head now shows signs of noticeable thinning. His struggle to hold on to his hair has people wondering if he might eventually take the plunge and go for a full shave.

The Windsor baldness curse

Just last month, Prince Harry debuted his latest look in New York while providing an update on his non-profit Travalyst. As with his London appearance, this one also drew eyeballs to his thinning hair.

Furthermore, the fact that he made both trips solo has only fueled rumors of tension between him and his wife Meghan Markle, 43. Could they be a sign of deeper marital issues?

Harry’s thinning hair hasn’t gone unnoticed. Some have even suggested that the time has come for him to just shave his head completely. It wouldn’t be surprising, especially considering the baldness gene runs in the Windsor family.

Harry’s older brother Prince William, 42, has also dealt with hair loss — though he seems to have accepted it much more readily. William has embraced a clean-cut, short style to work with his now nearly bald top.

Their father King Charles III has also faced the same issue. Like his sons, Charles suffers from male pattern baldness — a genetic condition that is hard to avoid.

Experts weigh in on Prince Harry’s hair loss

Hair transplant specialist Jacques Abrahamian told Radar Online that Prince Harry’s hair loss is likely due to his family history.

"Many people falsely have attributed his hair loss to stress, when in reality the vast majority of the time when hair loss occurs in men, it is genetics," Jacques said. "For example in Prince Harry’s case, his father Prince Charles also suffers from Male Pattern Baldness which his genes have passed along to his sons including Prince Harry."

Dr Asim Shamahlak, a leading hair transplant surgeon from Crown Clinic, also shared his thoughts on Harry’s thinning hair. He insisted that Harry’s hair loss seems to have accelerated since he tied the knot with Meghan in 2018.

“Prince Harry’s hair loss looks to have accelerated in the last two years since his marriage to Meghan," Shamahlak noted.

“Over that time, his bald patch appears to have more than doubled in size. His bald patch is more noticeable around the crown area, but his hair looks to be thinning fast around the front of his hair too. While we may be able to attribute this to stress, the most likely reason for his hair loss is the Windsor baldness gene," he explained.

“I don’t think meeting Meghan was a contributing factor. His baldness gene just took off at the wrong time," Shamahlak added.

Rumors of strained marriage

While Harry’s hair may be thinning, it might not be his biggest concern right now. Divorce rumors have been swirling around him and Meghan for some time, and recent events only seem to fuel speculation. Last week, Radar Online reported that the Sussexes had been living separate lives.

Harry’s solo trips—first to London and then to Africa—left many wondering about the status quo. The couple usually work together on charitable causes through their Archewell Foundation, but they seem to be spending more time apart. For his 40th birthday, Harry opted to go hiking with friends instead of celebrating with Meghan.

A source close to the couple revealed to Radar Online that they might be headed for a “trial separation.”

According to the insider, "Harry and Meghan are going to live separate lives – and have a blueprint for doing so. They have been drifting apart for a while, with Harry's desire to return to the UK where his old drinking buddies are and his hope to return to the very comfortable fold of the Royal Family putting a real strain on their marriage."

On the other hand, Meghan seems firmly rooted in her Los Angeles lifestyle — a different kind of life than what Harry might prefer. "His plans to pursue his own activities and tours away from Meghan is the first sign they are effectively on a 'trial separation' while they work this out," the source added.
