LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: At the recent Children's Hospital Los Angeles 2024 Gala, Meghan Markle made a stunning appearance on October 5.

However, the Duchess of Sussex was notably able to avoid crossing paths with former friend Lizzie Cundy during the charity event.

Meghan Markle dissolved old ties after becoming a royal

"Well, I think that Meghan has managed to alienate a lot of her former friends," shared royal commentator Ingrid Seward in a recent interview, as per OK Magazine.

"She does something which is very distressing for people. She actually sort of just cuts them dead and ghosts them, as it's called."

Seward explained that this habit of distancing herself has affected several relationships.

"But to me, it's just called cutting them dead and not wanting to see them anymore. And if they upset her, that's what she does, and it's very difficult to deal with somebody like that. I think that people are just fed up with Meghan."

Markle's social circle has seemingly evolved over the years, with old friendships—including those with Cundy and longtime confidante Jessica Mulroney—dissolving.

The shift coincided with her growing fame and new life as a royal.

Seward noted that many people are becoming more vocal about their discontent with Markle.

"The point is that people are starting to be actually, you know, speak out about being unhappy with the way that Meghan is," she revealed.

"She was all smiles at one stage, and now she just looks different, and it doesn't look real."

Meghan Markle's brief appearance at Children's Hospital Event raises questions

During the event, while Meghan Markle expressed her admiration for the work of Children's Hospital Los Angeles, whispers emerged that she left soon after her red carpet moment.

"She looked as if she was striking out on her own in a purposeful way," Seward observed.

"But if she only ever stayed for the pictures, which apparently she did, that's counterproductive because she's already got some bad publicity for just appearing and smiling and then disappearing."

Attendees reportedly corroborated this, claiming that Meghan's brief appearance drew negative attention. "And that's from people that were actually physically there," Seward added.

Meanwhile, insiders claim that Cundy was relieved to have avoided any interaction with Meghan.

“Lizzie was relieved Meghan left the gala early, avoiding what could have been a very icy reunion," a source disclosed.

"She’s been very open about how Meghan ghosted her after meeting Harry and was hurt by the sudden cut-off."

Cundy further expressed how painful it was for her to be excluded from Meghan's royal wedding to Prince Harry.

"It would have been incredibly awkward, given Lizzie didn’t even get an invite to the wedding," she said.

How Jessica Mulroney's friendship with Meghan Markle soured

Meghan Markle’s distancing from Lizzie Cundy was not an isolated incident.

Jessica Mulroney, once a close friend, also found herself sidelined, especially after a social media scandal involving influencer Sasha Exeter, who accused the stylist of exhibiting "textbook White privilege" during the George Floyd protests.

Meghan, it seems, did not want to be connected to the controversy.

Insiders reported that Markle was deeply embarrassed by the accusations against Mulroney.

“Meghan said friends reflect friends, and because of what’s at stake, she can no longer be associated with Jessica, at least not in public,” a source revealed.

"She has to do what she has to do in order to preserve her dignity and her own reputation.”

Mulroney had been an integral part of Meghan's wedding preparations, even assisting in selecting her 2018 gown and being on the phone with her when Prince Harry proposed.

However, as with other friendships, their bond appears to have faded in recent years.

“Their friendship is definitely not what it was. And really, how can you have such a close friendship when one person is basically making a career out of the friendship?” a source close to Meghan shared.
