LONDON, ENGLAND: Meghan Markle's former best friend Lizzie Cundy has some harsh words to share about her former acting buddy and Prince Harry.

Amid King Charles III and Princess of Wales' cancer diagnosis, Cundy admitted to GBN's Nana Akua that the Duchess of Sussex is "not reading the room" and is "trying to relaunch herself as a Gwyneth Paltrow type."

Lizzie Cundy criticized ex-pal Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Both Princess Kate and King Charles revealed earlier this year that they had been diagnosed with cancer and are undergoing private treatment.

TV Presenter Lizzie Cundy has criticized Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for their "insensitive" choice to take on new Netflix projects despite the Royal Family's cancer worries.

"They've got these new Netflix shows about making jam and cookery and gardening, and there Harry's about polo playing, it's not really relatable," she stated.

"I think it's pretty insensitive when Catherine's going through what she's going through and the King is going through his cancer issues too, it's really insensitive, to be honest."

GBN's Nana Akua responded by saying: "I do find it quite astonishing that they think that people won't look at this and think how ridiculous they are."

"It feels to me that they should realize how ridiculous they're coming across, how heartless and insensitive they look, but they don't appear to realize any of that," the reporter continued.

"They never read the room, do they?" Cundy retorted. "They're so into themselves they can't see the wood for the trees."

"We've heard Meghan going on about the trolling and all the horrible comments and you just think, look at what you've actually done to poor Kate."

The former 'Suits' actress and her prince husband have not visited Britain together since Queen Elizabeth II's formal burial in September 2022, per OK! Magazine.

A royal insider recently stated that if Meghan accompanies her husband in May 2024, "the long amount of time that has passed since the snob graced us with her presence will guarantee a media frenzy with her oaf."

Lizzie Cundy denounced Meghan Markle's strawberry jam launch as 'fake and phoney'

The conversation shifted to Meghan's other recent endeavor, American Riviera Orchard, in which the Duchess distributed 50 jams to friends and American influencers.

The 'Suits' star's former pal called her strawberry jam launch "fake and phoney" and said that Americans are "sick to death of her."

"I don't think anyone will be interested at all. It's fake. It's phony. It's cheesy," Cundy said.

"I think people are really seeing her for what she is. I think she should come out and actually apologize for what she's done to poor Kate, and maybe not be so insensitive."

PR specialist Lynn Carratt revealed, "As Meghan is no longer part of the monarchy, she is free to launch her brand whenever she likes."

"However, given Kate's ongoing cancer treatments, it would be wise for Meghan to be sensitive to the timing of her brand launch, considering the public support for Kate worldwide."

Internet users express support towards Meghan Markle

Social media users took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their support for the Duchess of Sussex and slam Lizzie Cundy for her choice of words for the former royal couple.

One such X user stated, "Leave the girl alone now, it’s done. Stop picking the scab."

A user exclaimed, "What do you want people to do when a Royal gets ill, come over all helpless and get a sick note?"

"A pot of jam is insensitive. but a low budget channel who abuse meghan daily isn’t, make it make sense," blasted one user.

Another one slammed Cundy and wrote, "Is Lizzy Cundy talking about herself, or Nana? ‘She’s self-obsessed, self-indulgent, this is nothing but a vanity project.’"

"To you all who hate Meghan for living her life with her beautiful family in CA," wrote one Meghan supporter, followed by an inspiring clip from Maya Angelou.
