Prince Louis mirrors his dad Prince William at same age in eighth birthday portrait

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Prince Louis bears a clear resemblance to his father, the Prince of Wales, at the same age in a new portrait released to celebrate his 8th birthday.

The image was shared on Kensington Palace’s official social media pages with the message, “Happy birthday Louis Eight today.” In the photo, the young prince is seen smiling happily while wearing a $42 blue quarter-zip jumper. He stands with his arms folded in a relaxed and cheerful pose.

The previously unseen photograph was taken by photographer Matt Porteous during the family’s Easter holiday in Cornwall earlier this month, according to the Daily Mail. 

Prince Louis resembles young Prince William at 8

The new birthday portrait of Prince Louis has led many to draw a direct comparison with a childhood image of Prince William taken in 1990 during a family holiday in Mallorca, Spain.

In that photograph, Prince William, then 8 years old, is seen aboard a yacht while travelling with Princess Diana, King Charles, and Prince Harry, who was 5 at the time.
