NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump reportedly mocked Democratic Sen John Tester (D-Montana) over his weight at a fundraising event for Rep Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) at Mar-A-Lago, Florida, on Saturday, May 4.

According to POLITICO, the presumptive GOP nominee for the 2024 election went after the senior politician saying that he "looks pregnant to me.” A video obtained by the publication shows Trump holding his hands out in front of him to make fun of Tester, stating, "Have you ever seen this guy? He doesn’t look like a fat guy, except that his stomach is out."

While Trump has a history of launching personal attacks against his opponents, he reportedly declared in the video that he does not “talk about things like that” and never talks “about looks for a man or for a woman," after making his jibe aimed at Tester.

Back in 2018, Jackson, then White House physician, had declared Trump himself to be "very healthy," even while acknowledging the fact that his body mass index put him just under the line for an obesity classification. “The president’s acknowledged that he would be healthier if he lost a few pounds and that’s what we’re going to try to do,” he had shared at a press briefing.

The equation between Donald Trump and John Tester

The Senator, who is seeking reelection this cycle from a state where Trump won back in 2020, needs the support of the latter's voters to retain his seat in the Upper House. He has thus sought a middle ground and at times volleyed between praising and criticizing Trump.

Trump stated on Saturday that Tester was “in a tough campaign that he could very well lose." Tim Sheehy, the GOP opponent of Tester to the Senate, has already won the endorsement of the controversial business tycoon.

Coming up from a conservative state, Tester has at times praised Trump by running ads thanking and praising him. On other occasions, he has vowed to “undo the damage of Trump’s presidency,” as well as twice voted for his impeachment.
