'Pure EXTORTION!': Donald Trump's son Eric tweets amid Stormy Daniels' 'damaging' hush money testimony
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Eric Trump, the son of former president Donald Trump, took to his account on X (formerly Twitter) to express his outrage over the ongoing court proceedings.
The trial, on Tuesday, May 7, involved key witness Stormy Daniels, who had a controversial encounter with the former president in 2006. Eric Trump labeled the trial as “Pure EXTORTION!!!” on his X account.
Stormy Daniels about Donald Trump's interest in her story
Daniels, the central figure in the case against former president Trump, provided explicit details about her 2006 encounter with him, for which she was allegedly paid to remain silent.
Before Eric Trump’s tweet, Daniels testified about receiving an offer of $130,000 from Donald Trump and Michael Cohen to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
“They were interested in paying for the story,” Daniels said of Cohen and Trump on the witness stand.
Why Stormy Daniels 'didn't care about money'?
When asked by prosecutors if she considered approaching Trump or Cohen to pay for the story, Daniels responded with a firm “no.”
“My motivation wasn’t money. It was to get the story out,” she clarified. She also mentioned that her publicist could not sell the story, and many people reached out to her to tell the story when the ‘Access Hollywood' tape came out in 2016 as reported by NBC News.
Daniels also recalled a threatening incident in June 2011, when she was approached by a man in a Las Vegas shopping center parking lot while she was with her infant.
The man warned her not to continue telling her story. Daniels admitted to being “scared” and confirmed that she did not report the incident to law enforcement or her daughter’s father.
“I didn’t care about the amount,” she said, adding that her financial situation at the time was “the best it's ever been.”
Stormy Daniels confirms Donald Trump a beneficiary for NDA to remain silent
Daniels confirmed that Trump was a beneficiary of her signed NDA. An email from her then-attorney Keith Davidson to Michael Cohen, dated October 11, 2016, was read in court, which expressed dissatisfaction with a delay in funding the agreement. Daniels wanted the agreement finalized quickly due to concerns about the threat from the Las Vegas man.
She testified, “We had to pretend that we didn’t know each other at all, basically,” and signed the agreement to end the ordeal. When asked by the prosecution, “Why didn’t you ask for more money?” Daniels answered, “Because I didn’t care about the money.”
She said, if it wasn’t done before the election, “I wouldn’t be safe or that he wouldn’t pay and there would be a trail to keep me safe.” The payment, however, came late, she said.
Internet reacts to Eric Trump's post calling Stormy Daniel's deal with Donald Trump 'pure extortion'
There were reactions over Eric calling Daniels an extortionist with comments like, "Everyone knows it," "Lie after lie!!!!!," "And anyone that says it isn't is lying."
"You do realize, Stormy Daniels signed a paper stating 'she did not have an affair with Donald Trump," wrote one more slamming Daniels.
"I just don't know if the Stormy Daniels testimony is believable. Would a guy who had cheated on all 3 of his wives, and was cheating on his current wife with another woman besides Stormy at the time, and who bragged he grabbed women by the pu**y, really have slept with her?" wrote one.

Donald Trump says the hush money trial 'has gone too far' after Stormy Daniels' testimony
Meanwhile, Trump again took to his Truth Social to slam what he calls an "election interference" trial to keep him from campaigning and a "witch hunt."
He also refers to it as a "Biden Trial" while also repeatedly taking a dig at Judge Juan Merchan by calling him conflicted.
On Tuesday as the testimony continued he posted, "THE PROSECUTION, WHICH HAS NO CASE, HAS GONE TOO FAR. MISTRIAL!"
"#TrumpTrial , The real criminal here is stormy Daniel, she should be charged for blackmail, this nonsensical political trial is a waste of time and damaging to the American justice system, I'm sure Russia and China are laughing right now," wrote one.
