‘Put price on yourself’: Carville lambasts Stevens over 11th-hour El-Sayed betrayal
WASHINGTON, DC: After Michigan Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens withdrew her support for Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed and endorsed Republican candidate Mike Rogers just days before the midterm elections, Democratic strategist James Carville lashed out at her, accusing her of selling her soul.
In a shocking move on Sunday, Nov. 1, Stevens announced her endorsement of Rogers, just two days before Election Day, upsetting several Democrats.
Carville accuses Dem Stevens of selling her soul after she backs Republican
Hours after Haley Stevens appeared at a church with Michigan GOP Senate nominee Mike Rogers and confirmed her endorsement for the Republican candidate, political pundit James Carville lambasted her, accusing her of selling her soul and ending her political career in one move.

“I think El-Sayed offered her one cheeseburger and Rogers offered her two cheeseburgers, and in the spirit of John Fetterman, sh*t, gimme another cheeseburger and I’ll give ya my soul!” Carville said.
“I mean, lady, if you’re going to sell your soul, you gotta get more for it than a f*ckin’ cheeseburger, okay,” he added.
Carville continued criticizing Stevens, questioning her self-respect and declaring that her political career was over.
“You gotta put some kind of a price on yourself, or [have] some kind of God damn self-pride. But your political career is over,” Carville added.
He also made a series of crude personal remarks about Stevens, including comparing her to a “used con***” and telling her to “sleep” in the mess she had made.
Carville said Republicans are not going to treat Stevens right.
Carville shared the video hours after Stevens announced her support for Rogers.

Stevens upsets Democrats by announcing support for Mike Rogers
Rep Haley Stevens' decision to withdraw her support for Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed and back Republican rival Mike Rogers has triggered a political backlash, drawing criticism from several Michigan Democrats.
Stevens' decision to support Rogers came after days of public tension with El-Sayed, who defeated her in the August Democratic primary.
Michigan Democratic Party Chair Curtis Hertel said Stevens was no longer part of the state party. Notably, Stevens won a previously Republican-held congressional district for the Democrats in 2018.
In an X post, Hertel said Stevens' support for Mike Rogers “shows that she has abandoned everything she claims to care about.”

Retiring Democratic Michigan Sen. Gary Peters said he is “extremely disappointed” in Stevens’ move to break from the party.
