WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC host Rachel Maddow shared her concern over President Joe Biden receiving accurate polling data while discussing his NATO summit press conference on Thursday, July 11, reported Fox News.

Maddow was on a network panel with Chris Hayes, Joy Reid, and Nicolle Wallace when she made the remarks, as each weighed in on the continued confidence of the incumbent claiming to be the best chance for Democrats to defeat former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

Biden stated at the conference that he needed to be reelected to be able "to finish the job." The take was questioned on the panel by host Chris Hayes, who said that it reminded him of a "World Series star starter in the seventh game of the World Series, who’s got four outs left to get in a close game that’s thrown 120 pitches."

"When the manager comes out to the mound, they never want to go," he said.

Rachel Maddow's take on the issue

"We can't say frequently enough, as Democrats and people who want Donald Trump to be prevented from returning to the White House, of anguish over this decision, which is that there is not perfect information about the future," Maddow expressed on the show. "And the argument that President Biden is best positioned to beat Donald Trump is an argument."

"There are other arguments that are also data-based," she noted, "That other people might have a better shot at it (defeating Trump)."

"I think, the reality of polling number for incumbent presidents and real history of that versus what President Biden said, which was not factually accurate as far as I can tell, that's worrying," continued Maddow. "Because it makes me worry that the President is being given information about his political standing that may not be based in reality- that may be sunnier than is real."

Biden had admitted towards the end of the conference that there were other Democratic leaders capable of defeating Trump in the upcoming election. Maddow concluded by saying that the incumbent "acknowledging it’s not only him who could beat Trump is an important sort of message from the reality-based world."

Internet trolls Rachel Maddow for living in 'alternate universe'

Netizens were not sold on Maddow's stance and accused her of previously lying to cover up the fitness status of Joe Biden. Some chided that she did not live in this reality herself, while others made fun of the 'left' turning on their own, as the following tweets demonstrate,

"This from a woman that lives in an alternate universe," a person posted on X in response to Maddow's views.

"You’ve lied for years to protect Biden and now this dude wants to tell the truth????" mocked another.

"Rachel Maddow is the LAST person on earth who should be talking about 'reality,'" quipped a third.

"Gotta love it. The left eating the left," jibed a fourth.

"That's funny coming from somebody not based in reality," a fifth slammed Maddow.
