WASHINGTON, DC: NBC News reported that President Joe Biden's "closest allies," including some campaign officials, think he's toast, but the Biden campaign denounced the report as "patently false."

In recent days, as the Democratic Party tries to find a way to move past Biden's notorious debate fiasco, the president has been subjected to intense calls for his resignation in favor of a younger contender.

His attempt to serve a second term has drawn criticism from everyone, including the editorial board of the New York Times and Hollywood actor George Clooney.

NBC revealed on Thursday, July 11, that the most recent calls for Biden's resignation are coming from within the campaign. "He needs to drop out… he will never recover from this," one Biden campaign official allegedly told NBC News.

New report states Democratic Party's favor is shifting from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris

The stunning report, "'No one involved in the effort thinks he has a path': Biden insiders say the writing is on the wall," cited "three people who are directly involved in efforts to re-elect" Biden, along with other allies, who have done an about-face in recent days.

"The set of Democrats who think he should reconsider his decision to stay in the race has grown to include aides, operatives and officials tasked with guiding his campaign to victory. Those who spoke to NBC News said the sentiment that he should exit and leave the Democratic nomination to someone else — most likely Vice President Kamala Harris — is widespread even within the ranks of the campaign and the outside Democratic entities supporting it," NBC News reporters wrote.

What did Joe Biden's campaign staffers say about the president's chances to win election 2024?

Another campaign staffer allegedly offered the quote that nobody involved feels he "has a path" to victory, while a third allegedly told NBC News that "questions swirling around Biden’s cognitive abilities," fundraising issues, and polls have made the campaign unsustainable. "This person also said they didn’t see how the campaign could win," NBC News reported.

Joe Biden's staffers spoke for the report on the condition of anonymity

The president's staffers spoke to NBC on the condition of anonymity "because they don’t want to be seen as further damaging a candidate they appreciate for his victory over then-President Donald Trump in 2020 and his policy wins in the White House," according to NBC.

At least two of Biden's acquaintances, according to the report, are still holding onto hope, but they "believe the goal of defeating Trump in November should take precedence over backing Biden."

A Biden campaign spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the NBC News report is "patently false." Biden has made it clear that he plans to stay on the Democratic ticket. Next week, he is expected to have an interview with Lester Holt, anchor of NBC News.

Internet says 'Bye bye Biden' after new report highlights Joe Biden's waning support within Democratic Party

Netizens berated the current US president after his close allies expressed concerns about the 81-year-old.

One X user tweeted, "Bye bye Biden. Good riddance." Another said, "One never recovers from Parkinson’s and/or dementia. My husband had Parkinson’s as his primary illness and eventually Lewy Body dementia, and he never recovered. They are progressive illnesses."

"He was 40 minutes late to the NATO meeting today. His a total loser," remarked one user and someone else wrote, "Why don’t they just walk up to Trump & tell him to his face were scared & think we’re gonna lose to you. Jesus Christ."
