Raphael Warnock vows Democrats will win Georgia in pivotal race that could decide Senate control
WASHINGTON, DC: NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ welcomed Senator Raphael Warnock to its set on Sunday, December 14.
Warnock and Kristen Welker discussed several issues, including what would be the winning issues during the 2026 elections. The senator expressed certainty that the Democrats would “win Georgia” and potentially flip the Senate in their favor.
Raphael Warnock urges action as Obamacare nears expiration
During the conversation, Kristen Welker asked the senator about the Obamacare subsidies that could expire by the end of the year.
Welker asked if Warnock thought Congress would be able to strike a deal to “prevent subsidies from spiking” and what he would tell his constituents who would notice a premium spike.
“I hope we can fix it,” said Warnock. However, he added that Welker needed to ask the Republicans about the same, noting that they had the House, the Senate, and the White House.
The senator added that the Democrats had given the Republicans 13 opportunities to stop the premiums from “doubling.”
“Every single time, they turned their backs on their own constituents,” he added.
Warnock said that people in the red states would be disproportionately impacted by the premiums.
Welker asked Warnock about Georgia shaping up to be one of the most closely watched Senate races and asked if Democrats could win back the state.
“We’re gonna win Georgia,” Warnock said. He added that Georgia had “saved the nation before” and said it would “show up again” and that Democrats would win the elections in the state.
Raphael Warnock calls nation 'broken' after university shooting
On Saturday, a mass shooting took place at Brown University, which left two students dead and several injured.
Welker asked if Warnock had a message for the community in light of the somber event, and the senator said he wanted to say a prayer for the university.
He added that there was no greater pain than when “nature is violently reversed,” meaning when parents have to bury their children.

He added that any nation that tolerated violent attacks such as the mass shooting, year after year, was “broken” and needed more repairs.
In reference to the recent attack in Australia, the senator said America was also seeing a rise in “anti-semitism” and said they had to condemn the same. He added that people needed to remember the words of Martin Luther King and build a beloved community.
