LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: On Tuesday, before 8 am, an 11-year-old boy in Las Vegas was thrown from his electric bike and run over by a pickup truck on his way to school, resulting in a life-threatening accident.

In the aftermath of this tragic incident, the boy, Rayan Kim, endured significant injuries, including the loss of half of his right ear, fractures to his jaw and facial bones, a broken left arm, severe road rash, a brain hemorrhage, and internal bleeding as per DailyMail.

Expressing her emotions, Rayan Kim's mother stated, "He lost his right ear, skin, and face." Further details about the events at the scene and the current condition of the boy have been disclosed.

How did Rayam Kim meet with an accident?

As reported by the Daily Mail, Rayan Kim was on his way to Gunderson Middle School in southwest Las Vegas, riding his electric bicycle, when he was struck by a 2012 Nissan Frontier shortly before 8 am.

The impact threw Rayan from his bike, and he was subsequently run over by the pickup truck.

This tragic incident took place at the intersection of Cactus Avenue and Cliff Lake Street, merely a mile from his school.

Currently, Rayan Kim is fighting for his life, but he remains unconscious, as depicted in a poignant photograph showing him lying in a hospital bed with extensive injuries and receiving wired treatment.

The driver involved in the accident was identified as 39-year-old Leo Gonzalez Ceron, who escaped without injuries and showed no signs of impairment.

In the aftermath of this devastating accident, Rayan's heartbroken mother shared, “He left home before going to school, saying, ‘Mom, I love you.’ That’s the last I heard his voice.”

She continued, expressing her son's impact on her life, stating, “I'm his mom, but I want to tell you he raised me. He changed me. He taught me what is love. And he's really strong. He has a big heart. My son has really bad injuries." Rayan's mother added, "I really miss him. I really want to talk and have a conversation.”

Notably, she is the mother of three, and due to the uncertain recovery period for her injured son, she has had to leave her job to care for him.

As of Saturday noon, a GoFundMe page has been launched for Rayan Kim, accumulating over $49,000 in donations. The initiative was established by Kristen Penny, a close family friend of Kim.

The page emphasizes Rayan Kim's significant role as the older brother of his younger sister and brother, describing him as a bright presence in everyone's life.
