Rebecca Black responds after ‘Michael’ star Jaafar Jackson’s decade-old post about her goes viral
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: American singer-songwriter Rebecca Black had a playful time recently as she responded to an X (formerly Twitter) post made by Jaafar Jackson more than a decade ago, at the height Black's ‘Friday’ fame.
The ‘Michael’ star had shared the tweet in 2011 where he jokingly summoned Kanye West on the then 13-year-old singer if she won any award.

Black received an award for “Choice Web Star” at the Teen Choice Awards in August 2011.
Jaafar was referring to the infamous incident involving West and Taylor Swift when the 48-year-old rapper interrupted the pop icon’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV VMAs. In the same year, West got nominated for the Best R&B/Hip-Hop Artist and R&B/Hip-Hop Track categories.

Jaafar Jackson reflects on the success of 'Michael'
The online drama unfolded on the heels of Jaafar enjoying the success of the Michael Jackson biopic.
Speaking about the film's box office and audience reception, the late legend's nephew said in an interview, “Just the first 24 hours seeing all the social media posts and videos that were shared of people dancing in the theater, coming out in their outfits – I couldn't have been happier to see the joy and love that the film brought to a lot of people. It definitely exceeded my expectations.”
He even talked about the advantages as well as disadvantages of being Michael’s relative.
“It’s a culmination of both. Having those close family ties definitely gives you a bigger responsibility going into it but also allows me to trust my instincts even more, knowing we share the same blood. But at the same time, how do I carry that and not look at it as I'm just a family member playing a family member and look at it as really breaking down the character of who Michael was as a human being?” Jaafar added.
