Ryan Reynolds calls Blake Lively ‘fearless’ in Mother’s Day tribute after lawsuit settlement
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actor Ryan Reynolds shared a heartfelt Mother’s Day tribute for his wife Blake Lively. The post came just days after Lively resolved her high-profile legal dispute with Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios over ‘It Ends With Us.’
In an Instagram post shared on May 10, Reynolds described Lively as “fearless,” “kind,” and “the absolute love of my life,” while praising her as a devoted mother to their four children. The couple, who married in 2012, share daughters James, Inez, and Betty, along with their son Olin.

Reynolds wrote about the 38-year-old ‘Gossip Girl’ alum alongside photos of the couple relaxing together in chairs and posing near a waterfall while wearing ponchos, “I appreciate this mother beyond measure, She is kind. She is fearless. She’s the absolute love of my life and, to our four little kids, she’s the center of their world."
Lively’s most recent public appearance took place on Monday, May 4, when she returned to the Met Gala in an archival Atelier Versace gown from the brand’s Spring 2006 collection. She completed the look with custom Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and carried a handbag featuring artwork created by her children.
“We were trying to find a piece of famous, iconic art to put on and make it look like it was in a frame. And then I said, ‘Would you, actually, if you're gonna make it custom, would you do my kids?' ” she told Vogue on the red carpet.
She continued, "My kids each painted a watercolor painting. Each of my four kids did this, so I have them with me, because I'm shy too, so I just like to have the kids with me. Isn't that special?” joking, "I probably could have fit them under my dress, to be honest. I should have snuck them under there."
Although the couple have largely kept their children away from the public eye, the ‘A Simple Favor’ actress shared a rare glimpse of one of their kids in an Instagram carousel posted in March. In the blurred photograph, appeared to be carrying the child on his shoulders during the family’s trip to England.
"GB so grateful for the best week with my loved ones," Lively wrote in her caption.
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni settle ‘It Ends With Us’ lawsuit
The tribute came days after Lively and Baldoni settled their legal conflict connected to the 2024 film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s ‘It Ends With Us.’ The dispute began after she accused him of harassment and retaliation related to the movie’s production.
Baldoni denied the allegations and later filed countersuits, including a $400 million defamation claim against Lively, Reynolds, and others. Over time, several claims from both sides were dismissed in court, including his countersuit in June 2025.
Reports stated that only a small number of claims remained before both parties agreed to settle the matter ahead of a planned trial in New York. The terms of the settlement were not publicly disclosed. “He is ecstatic … at the results of this and the settlement itself,” the actor’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told 'Extra TV' in an interview released.
“This is not his settlement,” he also noted, explaining that Baldoni, was already “out of the case” by the time settlement discussions resumed over the weekend. However, his production company, Wayfarer Studios, remained involved in the matter.
“I think there was an urgency to try and get it done as quickly as possible,” the attorney continued, “I think Justin and the other individuals felt pretty comfortable [with] where they were at the time.” Following the settlement, both sides released statements expressing hope for closure and continued awareness surrounding domestic violence, an issue central to the film’s storyline.
