WASHINGTON, DC: Former Attorney General Bill Barr turned Donald Trump supporter a few months back, and now many believe it may have to do with his past.

In May 2019, then-prosecutor Kamala Harris grilled Barr over the revelation that the Department of Justice prosecutor subpoenaed Apple for data from the accounts of at least two Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee.

Bill Barr turned Donald Trump supporter for a reason, say reports

It is being said that the dark secrets that Bill Barr hid for Donald Trump's administration back then can be reopened if Kamala Harris comes to power. And that is one of the prime reasons why Barr announced his support for the Republican nominee in the upcoming November presidential election.

In his April interview, Barr said, “I think that Biden is unfit for office. I think Trump would do less damage than Biden, and I think all this stuff about a threat to democracy – I think the real threat to democracy is the progressive movement and the Biden administration.”

When the interviewer pressed him with, “Just to be clear, you’re voting for someone who you believe tried to subvert the peaceful transfer of power, that can’t even achieve his own policies, that lied about the election even after his attorney general told him that the election wasn’t stolen. … You’re going to vote for someone who is facing 88 criminal counts?” Barr responded, “The answer to the question is yes. I’m supporting the Republican ticket.”

He told CNN, “Between Biden and Trump, I will vote for Trump because I believe he will do less damage over the four years.”

Now since Biden endorsed Harris for the presidential race, Barr has once again become a talking point among voters.

Internet feels Bill Barr has no choice but to support Donald Trump

Netizens emphasized former Donald Trump's critic turned into his supporter over shady deals of the past. Many accused Kamala Harris will hold him accountable if Democrats come to power again.

One user shared on X, "Between the lines 'there's a 100% chance I won't go to prison if trump is elected.'"

"Translation: Kamala may try to have me charged for all the obstruction of justice I did for Trump," opined another individuak.

Someone else remarked, "Translation: Kamala will put him in prison for HIS crimes. This is pure self-preservation."

"Bill Barr’s principal function as AG was to insulate his “boss” from corruption and crime; and in doing so, conspired in the crime. His words are and always will be worthless, to be ignored," one speculated.

Another felt, "Barr squashed Trump investigations and should be indicted for obstruction of justice."
