FLORIDA, UNITED STATES: On Saturday, January 6, 2024, a 22-year-old mother was arrested and taken into custody after she recorded herself physically and verbally abusing her 2-month-old daughter.

Shockingly, she shared the distressing clip with the toddler's father who is also the ex-boyfriend of the woman.

Soon, the child's father, alarmed by the content on the phone, promptly reported the mother Reyanna Icilma Thomas to the police for striking the newborn child.

Additional information about the injuries sustained by the child emerged when authorities examined the files that Thomas had sent to the father, as per Law&Crime.

Newborn’s father shows cops Reyanna Thomas’ video

As reported by Law&Crime, the father of the newborn approached an officer from the North Miami Police Department around 6:20 pm on Saturday, presenting a video depicting Reyanna Icilma Thomas physically assaulting the child.

In the video, Thomas can be seen simultaneously shouting and using profanity directed at the newborn. The police described the child in the footage as appearing frightened and afraid, with Thomas referring to her as a "dumba** b***h".

Furthermore, Thomas shared a photograph showing the infant lying face up on a bed with what seems to be a blanket covering her nose and mouth, potentially impeding her breathing.

The video and photos, accompanied by text messages from Thomas, serve to demean her ex-boyfriend and daughter.

In the messages, she implied leaving the newborn alone at home with only her pet cat, stating, "I'm stuck with this thing until she dies."

She expressed disgust at the child having a part of her ex-boyfriend, preventing her from loving the infant.

Additionally, she threatened her ex-boyfriend, stating that she would punch their baby "dead in the face."

Cops arrest Reyanna Icilma Thomas for child abuse

Upon receiving the newborn child's father's report, the police proceeded to Thomas' residence in the 12000 block of Northeast Fifth Avenue and knocked on the door.

With no response, they initiated calls to secure access to the apartment. Upon entry, law enforcement reportedly discovered both Thomas and the newborn.

Thomas was promptly arrested, and medical personnel from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue examined the child, revealing no visible injuries.

In a subsequent police interview, Thomas allegedly provided a full confession. However, details from her confession were redacted from the affidavit.

She is currently being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, as per jail records, with no immediate information on her next court appearance.

According to court records, she is currently facing felony child abuse charges, although the child did not suffer great bodily harm.(Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center)
