RFK Jr may face pushback from wife Cheryl Hines if he endorses Trump after dropping out of 2024 race
WASHINGTON, DC: Robert F Kennedy Jr, who has officially withdrawn from the Arizona ballot, may face pushback from wife Cheryl Hines, if he were to end his presidential campaign and endorse Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Hines, best known for her role on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', is seemingly troubled by the notion of her husband endorsing the former president and reportedly vocal about her disapproval.
Despite Kennedy Jr's modest 5% polling as an independent, which is more than Democratic presidential frontrunner Kamala Harris‘ lead on Trump in most polls, his shift could influence the GOP landscape, particularly given the twice impeached former president's recent overtures suggesting a role for Kennedy Jr in his administration.
“It would be so good for [me] and so good for you,” Trump reportedly said in a recorded phone call last month, per Hastings Tribune.
RFK Jr joked about divorce if he joined Trump adminstration
Adding fuel to the fire, a year-old video from 'The Brilyn Hollyhand Show' has resurfaced, where Robert F Kennedy Jr humorously suggested he’d get a divorce if he worked with Donald Trump.
"If Donald Trump picked up the phone right now to be his vice president, would you say?" the host asked. "No, no. first of all, I would be, I would be getting a divorce from my wife," Kennedy responded.

Previously Cheryl Hines said her choices differ from Kennedy Jr's views
The couple, married since 2014, have previously clashed over various issues. During a 2021 pandemic holiday party, Kennedy Jr's vaccine skepticism contrasted sharply with Hines’ insistence on vaccinations for guests.
Additionally, Kennedy’s controversial comments comparing vaccine mandates to the Nazi Holocaust prompted Hines to publicly distance herself, stating, “My husband’s opinions are not a reflection of my own. While we love each other, we differ on many current issues."
Despite the Kennedy family's deep ties to Democratic politics, RFK Jr has recently repudiated the party that helped elect his uncle John F Kennedy to the White House in 1961.
His potential move to endorse Trump not only breaks from his party’s tradition, but several family members have expressed strong opposition to his “dangerous” candidacy.

"Hope she fulfills her threat!" said a second.
"Could it be that it was the brain-worm talking then? Now, he is worm-free," a third claimed.
"Hope she has a good divorce attorney!" read a tweet.
"Sounds like we're about to find out soon," penned a user.
"No idea how he landed such a good wife," chimed another.
"I guess his ambition “trumps” his marriage!" added a user.
