WASHINGTON, DC: Robert F Kennedy Jr reportedly put all the blame on his second wife Mary Richardson for being unfaithful to her during their marriage. He allegedly was involved with other women at least 37 times.

The nominee to head the Department of Health and Human Services also claimed that he was “abused at home,” as per a report by Mother Jones, which cited audio recordings made by Kennedy Jr between 2011 and early 2012.

The recordings, which the outlet is not making public over privacy concerns, reportedly included over 60 conversations.

RFK Jr allegedly justified his infidelities

The 71-year-old politician and the interior designer were married from 1994 to 2012 after the former filed for divorce in 2010. Richardson died on May 16, 2012, and her death was declared a suicide, as reported by The Independent.

As per Mother Jones, in one of the 60 recordings, Kennedy Jr told Richardson on June 4, 2011, “I want to be in a monogamous relationship. I don’t want to be in a polygamous relationship. I think that’s wrong.”

However, when his former wife asked, “But then why have you done it for 10 years?” while referring to his infidelities, he replied, “I did it because I was being abused at home.”

The publication also reported that this recording was secretly made by the anti-vaccine activist in California, where it is mandatory to have consent of the two people involved before recording the conversation.

Mary Richardson accused RFK Jr of 'stealthily tape recording phone conversations in my home'

Besides, Mother Jones stated that Richardson eventually made a draft after Kennedy Jr accused her of having violent outbursts as well as called her a heavy drinker, who even threatened suicide in front of their children.

She alleged that the environmental lawyer was “stealthily tape recording phone conversations in my home.”

“I have witnessed Bobby’s obsessive-compulsive need to not only beat but also annihilate someone he perceives as an adversary. He re-jiggers the facts, or makes them up, and rushes to tell as many people as he can so that is the version of reality that gets distributed in people’s minds—classic gaslighting,” Richardson noted in the draft, which was never filed in court.

This came as Kennedy Jr was grilled by senators for his earlier stance on abortion and vaccines on Wednesday, January 29, during his confirmation hearing.

Amid this, his cousin Caroline Kennedy even wrote a letter to the Senate, urging them to not give him the job.

She claimed, “I've known Bobby my whole life. We grew up together. It's no surprise that he keeps birds of prey as pets. Because Bobby himself is a predator today. Bobby is addicted to attention and power.”
