RFK Jr's running mate Nicole Shanahan 'worried' for Democrats, says they have 'lost their soul'
WASHINGTON, DC: Nicole Shanahan, the former running mate of Robert F Kennedy Jr, expressed deep concern over the direction of the Democratic Party.
Shanahan criticized the harsh attacks launched against RFK Jr by prominent Democrats following his suspension of his presidential campaign and subsequent endorsement of Donald Trump.
James Carville opens up on suggesting institutionalization of RFK Jr
Nicole Shanahan, who appeared on Fox News, specifically aimed at Democratic strategist James Carville who harshly criticized Kennedy Jr during a CNN interview.
Carville suggested that Kennedy Jr had serious mental health issues and insinuated that in a "more humane country," Kennedy Jr would have been institutionalized.
“I really feel sorry for the Kennedy family because I will remind them, you can pick your friends, you can’t pick your relatives," Carville stated.
"And if Bobby Kennedy lived in a more humane country, they would have him in a nice rubber room and you know, three hots and a cot and take care of this guy," he continued, according to Mediate.
"He has no business being out on the street mixing and mingling with people. But this is where we are in this country. We have a mental health crisis and he’s at the top of it,” Carville added.

The station played Carville's interview, after which host Jesse Watters asked Shanahan, "Who really has the mental health crisis? I mean, this is crazy talk." Shanahan responded, "It is just wild."
Shanahan expressed her disappointment with the current state of the Democratic Party, saying, "I am asking myself what happened to the party of 'When they go low, we go high?' because right now they are going just lower and lower and lower and I am shocked, I am saddened, honestly worried for them."

"They’ve lost their soul. They’ve lost their direction,” Shanahan said to Jesse Watters.
She went on to add that if Democrats are going to target someone, "you got to pick it a little bit better. Robert F Kennedy is one of the kindest human beings I’ve had the pleasure to get to know,” said Nicole Shanahan.
She revealed that Kennedy Jr had advised her since joining his campaign that “every attack is a signal from God. Show up with kindness.”
RFK Jr faces backlash from his own family following Donald Trump's endorsement
After Robert F Kennedy Jr announced the suspension of his presidential campaign and endorsed Donald Trump, multiple members of his family publicly criticized him.
Five of Kennedy Jr's siblings, including Kerry Kennedy, expressed their disappointment in a joint statement. "We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future," wrote Kerry Kennedy alongside four of her siblings.
“We believe in Harris and Walz. Our brother Bobby’s decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear,” they added. “It is a sad ending to a sad story,” the Kennedy siblings concluded.
