WASHINGTON, DC: Robert F Kennedy Jr's presidential campaign is facing a pivotal decision as discussions emerge about his potential dropout from the race to endorse former president Donald Trump.

This revelation was made by Kennedy's running mate, Nicole Shanahan, during an interview on the 'Impact Theory' podcast, hosted by Tom Bilyeu.

Nicole Shanahan explains the 'two options' RFK Jr has to make a mark in elections

Nicole Shanahan outlined the two primary paths the campaign is considering, either staying in the race and forming a new party, or stepping aside to support Donald Trump.

"There's two options that we're looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Tim Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump, or we draw somehow more votes from Trump," Shanahan told interviewer Bilyeu.

"Or we walk away right now and join forces with ... Donald Trump and you know, we walk away from that and explain to our base why we're making this decision," the attorney continued.

"Not easy, not an easy decision," she added, according to CNBC.

The discussion comes at a time when the Kennedy campaign grapples with financial difficulties.

Nicole Shanahan says she's not a 'spoiler candidate'

Nicole Shanahan expressed frustration over Robert F Kennedy Jr's campaign's potential role as a spoiler.

"I did not put in tens of millions of dollars to be a spoiler candidate. I put in tens of millions of dollars to win, to fix this country, to do the right thing."

"We don't want to be a spoiler. We wanted to win. We wanted a fair shot," the entrepreneur added.

In a post on X, Bilyeu said the interview with Shanahan was filmed on Monday, August 19.

Robert F Kennedy Jr's response and future direction

In response to the ongoing discussions, Robert F Kennedy Jr's campaign referred inquiries to a recent tweet by Kennedy himself.

In the tweet, Kennedy wrote, "As always, I am willing to talk with leaders of any political party to further the goals I have served for 40 years in my career and in this campaign."

"These are: reversing the chronic disease epidemic, ending the war machine, cleaning corporate influence out of government and toxic pollution out of the environment, protecting freedom of speech, and ending politicization of enforcement agencies," he added.

RFK Jr's campaign slammed as Nicole Shanahan suggests they may join Donald Trump

As Nichole Shanahan suggested that Robert F Kennedy Jr's campaign is considering dropping out and endorsing Donald Trump, netizens rallied to criticize their decision.

One user on X wrote, "They’ve always been Trump supporters," and another tweeted, "The plan was always to help Trump one way or another," while someone else commented, "Not surprising and it won't hurt Harris' chances of winning at all."

"Like most of us didn’t see this coming from the day RFK announced his candidacy," a netizen opined, while someone remarked, "This doesn’t surprise me one bit."

"Well Nicole Shanahan basically just ended RFK Jr’s fake presidential run. She lays out her options as staying in the race if Trump can still win with them in, or dropping out and endorsing Trump. If that’s her perspective….why did these two even bother with running?" a user penned.
