KITTERY, MAINE: Nicole Shanahan, the running mate of independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr, has sparked a firestorm of controversy by proudly proclaiming her ideological alignment with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

In a candid statement during a campaign event in Kittery, Maine, Shanahan boasted about being "on the same page in every single way" with the controversial media personality, known for his promotion of conspiracy theories and embrace of divisive ideologies, as reported by Mediaite.

"I'm sitting across from Tucker, and he and I are so on the same page in every single way. We are on the same page because we have left establishment thinking once and for all," Shanahan stated.

Carlson, known for his controversial views and promotion of conspiracy theories, has faced widespread criticism for pushing false narratives about the January 6 insurrection, Covid-19 vaccines, and embracing the racist 'great replacement' theory.

His unwavering support for former President Donald Trump, even after Trump's conviction for falsifying business records, further solidified his divisive reputation.

"Import the Third World, become the Third World. That's what we just saw. This won't stop Trump. He'll win the election if he's not killed first. But it does mark the end of the fairest justice system in the world. Anyone who defends this verdict is a danger to you and your family," Carlson penned on X.

This incident is not the first time the Kennedy campaign has faced scrutiny for its anti-Democratic stances. In April, a New York campaign staffer was fired after admitting that preventing Joe Biden's re-election was her "number one priority."

Notably, Kennedy himself has previously implied that Biden presents a greater threat to democracy than Trump, despite the latter's indictments for his role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election results.

During the campaign event, Shanahan also seemed to attempt to associate the Kennedy campaign with Maine Senator Angus King, who, despite being an independent, aligns himself with the Democratic caucus, similar to Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

Shanahan remarked, "This is a state with independent-minded people. This is a state that understands issues, not rhetoric."

Nicole Shanahan's candid endorsement of Tucker Carlson's ideology draws flak online

Shanahan's candid endorsement of Carlson's ideology ignited a firestorm of criticism on social media platforms. One user remarked, "The more she talks about how she loves Tucker Carlson, the less chances she and RFK Jr get to have any Dems to leave Biden for RFK Jr. So keep talking, lady."

While another commented, "She just took a flamethrower to the tiny shred of hope anyone had for this woman." A third user wrote, "Imagine being such a dumbo that you can't see anything wrong with Tucker Carlson!"

One user mentioned, "Since Nicole Shanahan is admitting that she's 'on the same page in every single way' with Tucker Carlson, that would mean that she is inherently racist, a bigot, a conspiracy theorist, a liar, and a xenophobe. At least, now we know."

A fifth user stated, "Stupidity loves company." Another user posted, "Clearly brain worms are contagious." A seventh user said, "Ok so this lady has gone full tinfoil hat goober."

Lastly, a user wrote, "Maybe she should stick to pumping money into the campiagn instead of…saying things."
