Riley Strain: Missouri student's bank card found near Tennessee river days after mysterious disappearance
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Police searching frantically for University of Missouri student Riley Strain, who vanished nine days ago, discovered his bank card near a river in Nashville.
Strain, 22, was last seen on March 8 at country singer Luke Bryan bar Luke's 32 Bridge Food + Drink on Broadway, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
Surveillance footage shows Riley Strain stumbling and walking
Stain, a Delta Chi fraternity member, was kicked out from the bar at around 10 pm for unclear reasons while he was in Tennessee with his group for their yearly spring formal.
On Thursday, March 14, Nashville Metro Police said they were using a boat to search the Cumberland River further.
They verified that Strain's bank card had been discovered on the embankment close to Gay Street, three minutes walk from the Downtown Smoke & Vape Shop on Church Street, the location of his last video appearance.
During the March 17 media briefing, the authorities declared that the 22-year-old is still being sought after.
Footage of Strain from Wednesday, March 13, showed him close to the intersection of Church Street and 2nd Avenue, WKRN reports. He can be seen stumbling down the street, getting back up fast, and walking down the street while sporting a two-toned black and brown shirt and blue jeans.
Shortly before ten o'clock in the evening, a second camera caught him staggering through the streets with long strides and lowered head. This was near the intersection of Gay Street and 1st Avenue North.
"We feel like when he came out, because they had been to a couple of other places, that he had got turned around on the direction," said Strain's stepfather Chris Whiteid as per WKRN.
He is seen stumbling and looking disoriented as he crosses a closed road close to the water in more surveillance footage that the Nashville police have made public.
Police have searched local jails and hospitals for his phone, but have not been successful. Strain's mother, Michelle Whiteid, described him as a "communicative kid."
Country music artist Luke Bryan has expressed his prayers for his safe return. TC Restaurant Group is working with the Metro Nashville Police Department.
