WASHINGTON, DC: The chief of the Republican National Committee Michael Whatley has slammed an alleged "biological attack" on RNC Headquarters in Washington DC.

The headquarters were put on lockdown for nearly two hours on May 22 as police probed two vials of blood that were discovered in a package addressed to Donald Trump, The New York Post reports. The small vessels were reportedly for former President Donald Trump. However, it’s still unclear who sent the vials or if anyone touched the bottles.

The RNC chairman, Michael Whatley, issued a statement expressing his anger. He reportedly said, “Today, vials of blood were sent to RNC Headquarters in DC. We are thankful to law enforcement, who responded quickly and ensured everyone’s safety.”

Whatley continued, “The lockdown has been cleared and staff has resumed their office duties because we remain unintimidated and undeterred in our efforts to elect President Trump to the White House.”

Capitol Police via a statement said, “The package was just cleared by our Hazardous Incident Response Division. It contained two vials of blood. The source of the package and its contents will be further investigated.”
