BRONX, NEW YORK: A fatal road rage incident took place in the Bronx on Saturday, November 25, afternoon, resulting in the death of a young father-to-be. The incident began as an argument over a side mirror being ripped off and escalated into a horrific act of violence, as per New York Post.

Who is Lillibeth Vasquez?

Lillibeth Vasquez, the 28-year-old driver of the vehicle that struck and killed the victim, has been arrested and charged with murder and manslaughter.

Vasquez had an address in Allentown, Pennsylvania, though details about her personal life remain unclear.

Her alleged actions have been widely condemned, with the victim's father stating: "I hope she never comes out of jail. What she did, she’s got the devil inside her."

The events leading up to the fatal collision began around 2.20 pm on Saturday, November 25. The victim, 23-year-old Robert Jiminez, had borrowed a friend's motorized scooter to pick up money from his father. At some point, Jiminez became engaged in a road rage dispute with Vasquez, who was driving a red Honda Civic.

As the argument escalated, Jiminez ripped off the passenger side mirror of Vasquez's vehicle. Enraged, Vasquez began pursuing Jiminez in her vehicle as he drove the wrong way down a one-way street.

She then allegedly deliberately slammed her car into Jiminez's scooter near the intersection of Fox Street and Intervale Avenue in the Longwood neighborhood of the Bronx.

Robert Jiminez was rushed to Lincoln Hospital but succumbed to severe bodily trauma. Vasquez was taken to the same hospital and treated for pelvic injuries. By Sunday afternoon, she was charged by police with both murder and manslaughter.

Robert Jiminez's girlfriend is seven months pregnant

The loss of Robert Jiminez has led to deep grief and outrage among people. Jiminez's girlfriend is seven months pregnant with a baby girl, who will now never meet her father.

Jiminez had gone to pick up money from his father for a night out, as his father was using the family car. Tragically, he never made that 20-minute trip to see his father. He had simply borrowed a scooter to quickly grab cab fare.

Instead, Jiminez crossed paths with an enraged driver, resulting in his death before the birth of his first child. His grieving father, Milton Jiminez, spoke about the devastating loss, saying: “He said, ‘I’ll be there in twenty minutes. He never came. He was supposed to come here to get the money.”

The horrific and alleged needless violence cut short the life of an expectant young father. Vasquez now potentially faces life in prison for the reckless and violent act. The family can only mourn and grasp for closure in the aftermath of this tragedy.
