WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump fired back at Robert De Niro after the actor urged Americans to “resist” him and “save our country” during a recent podcast interview. The exchange escalated hours after Trump delivered his State of the Union address on Tuesday, February 24.

Taking to Truth Social on Wednesday, February 25, Trump posted a lengthy message criticizing the Oscar-winning actor and mocking his remarks, intensifying their long-running public feud.

Trump blasts Robert De Niro on Truth Social after SOTU

President Donald Trump responded strongly to Robert De Niro following the State of the Union event. In a sharply worded post, Trump described the actor as a “sick and demented person” and questioned his intelligence.

“Trump Deranged Robert De Niro (is) another sick and demented person with, I believe, an extremely Low IQ, who has absolutely no idea what he is doing or saying — some of which is seriously CRIMINAL!” Trump wrote.

He continued by reacting to De Niro’s recent appearance, drawing a comparison to comedian Rosie O’Donnell. “When I watched him break down in tears last night, much like a child would do, I realized that he may be even sicker than Crazy Rosie O’Donnell, who is right now in Ireland trying to figure out how to come back into our beautiful United States.'

Trump did not stop there. He went on to compare De Niro again with O’Donnell and added another sharp remark. “The only difference between De Niro and Rosie is that she is probably somewhat smarter than him, which isn’t saying much.”

He ended his message on a confident note about the country’s progress. “The good news is that America is now Bigger, Better, Richer, and Stronger than ever before, and it’s driving them absolutely crazy!”

Robert De Niro urges Americans to ‘save the country’ in podcast interview

During a recent appearance on 'The Best People With Nicole Wallace' podcast, Robert De Niro strongly criticized Trump and shared concerns about the country’s leadership.

“Trump is the enemy of this country, let’s not kid ourselves. It’s that simple. Everybody has to stick together to get them out and get back on track. We can all argue and fight about our little differences and all that. This is the big problem,” De Niro said.

He urged people not to let the current situation continue, stressing that resistance was necessary. “People are not going to go away, even if Trump dies for some reason by having an illness or something,” he added, arguing that parts of the political movement would remain.

De Niro also attended the “State of the Swamp” event on Tuesday, February 24. The anti-Trump gathering took place the same day Trump delivered his State of the Union address in Washington.

De Niro has long been a vocal critic of Trump, including during his first term from 2017 to 2021. Over the years, the two have exchanged repeated public remarks, keeping their feud in the national spotlight.
