MOAB, UTAH: Brian Laundrie's mom Roberta wrote the infamous "burn after reading" letter for her son that had not helped matters when Gabby Petito's death came to light. But now, in the light of recent court documents filed in the case, it appears Brian may have told his parents about fiance Gabby Petito's death nearly three weeks before she was actually reported missing.

According to The Sun, the filing alleges that Brian confessed to Roberta and Chris about the death of Gabby in a "frantic" phone call made on August 29, 2021, two days after her disappearance on their cross-country trip.

Following this latest revelation, Internet sleuths and social media users are revisiting Roberta's letter to her son, which was long presumed to be a comment on Gabby's death, despite the former's denial about a connection between the two.

"Roberta Laundrie knew that Gabby was dead shortly after it happened. Brings me back to the 'burn after reading' letter. There is no way this came from a book," wrote X user @/901Lulu.

"She would have arrived with a shovel and garbage bags to help bury Gabby Petito," the user added.

Did Roberta Laundrie write the 'burn after reading' letter to Brian Laundrie about Gabby Petito's death?

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Roberta wrote a letter to Brian encased in an envelope titled, "Brian Christopher Laundrie (burn after reading)."

The document was released to Gabby's parents after a Florida judge denied withholding requests from Brian's parents.

While the letter did not mention any specific date, attorney Patrick Riley, who is representing Gabby's family, claimed, "Within that letter is an offer from Roberta Laundrie to assist her son. It's a pretty interesting, pretty odd letter."

"I just want you to remember I will always love you, and I know you will always love me. You are my boy. Nothing can make me stop loving you, nothing will or could ever divide us no matter what we do, or where we go or what we say — we will always love each other," Roberta wrote in the letter.

"If you’re in jail, I will bake a cake with a file in it. If you need to dispose of a body, I will show up with a shovel and garbage bags. If you fly to the moon, I will be watching the skies for your re-entry. If you say you hate my guts, I’ll get new guts," she continued.

Roberta then included a Bible verse from Romans 8:38 and added, "Nothing can separate us: not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not threats, not even sin, not the thinkable or unthinkable can get between us. Not time. Not miles and miles and miles."

Speaking about the nature of the letter Riley claimed, "there's no date on the letter but it appears to have been written between the time that Gabby was murdered and Brian committed suicide."

However, Roberta previously denied a connection of the letter to Gabby's death and said, "The words in the letter could never have been a comment on that tragic situation as they were written so many months before."

"My words to Brian were meant to convey my love and support for my son through a light-hearted and quirky reminder that my love for him was not diminished and could not be shaken by the miles of separation we would soon be faced with," she alleged.

Amid the speculation surrounding the timeline of the letter, the recent information about Brian telling his parents Gabby was "gone" on a "frantic" phone call days before she was reported missing and weeks before she was found dead, sparked further question about Roberta (and Chris') knowledge of Brian's crime.

Internet continues to question Roberta Laundrie's letter to Brian Laundrie

Following the latest information about Gabby's murder case, Roberta's controversial letter to Brian once again came under the spotlight.

"This adds a whole new set of questions for Roberta," one user said.

"She had to know there was something twisted in him to write that -- and by writing it, she may have made it worse," another opined.

"I felt this from the beginning. And they knew he was going to commit suicide. They aided and abetted. They should face charges," one claimed.

"I feel like she is accessory after the fact! She knew and was trying to help him get away with it!" a fourth commented.

One said, "That is so sick. I get the first part a mother loving her son. But if you’re in JAIL I’ll bake you a cake w a file in it? JAIL?! And if you need to dispose of a BODY I’ll bring the SHOVEL?! That’s accomplice to murder. Aiding and abetting. #JusticeForGabby"

While another added, "Brian was enabled by his mom the burn after reading I buy you a shovel she might have known that might happen before I have no sympathy for the Laundrie family or Steve B."
