LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: British singer Rod Stewart mocked former president Donald Trump with a meme about him "turning orange" at his recent Las Vegas performance. This was in reference to the GOP presidential nominee's remarks about Vice President Kamala Harris' Black identity.

During his performance before thousands of fans, the 79-year-old singer suddenly stopped singing and projected a meme on the screen behind him with a tweet that had four different pictures of Trump displaying his complexion turning orange from white, according to The Independent.

The songwriter, who is currently on his US tour, recently made headlines for flying a Ukrainian flag in Germany.

The caption on the meme read, "I didn't know he was Orange until a number of years ago, when he happened to turn orange. I respect either one, but he obviously doesn't and now he wants to be known as Orange. All of a sudden he made a turn and became an Orange person. I think someone should look into that."

The singer also posted a picture from the show on Instagram.

Since Harris stepped into President Joe Biden's shoes for the Democratic ticket two weeks ago, Trump and his campaign revamped attacks against the vice president, who is the first Black American and the first South Asian American to be in the position.

On July 31, while speaking to the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago, the real estate mogul questioned Harris' racial identity, accusing her of only boosting her  Indian heritage. The vice president holds a biracial identity, with her mother immigrating to the US from India and her father from Jamaica.

"I didn't know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black," Trump said. "So I don't know, is she Indian or is she Black?"

Since Harris became the Democratic presumptive nominee, her 78-year-old Republican opponent went after her, besides attacking her racial identity.

For instance, in a recent interview with Fox News' Laura Ingraham, he claimed that if Harris won the election, foreign leaders would treat her "like a play toy" and walk all over her. In addition, a day after Biden endorsed her for the Democratic ticket, the ex-president labeled his new opponent "Dumb as a Rock".
