DES MOINES, IOWA: A few days before the Iowa Caucuses begin, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and former President Donald Trump have qualified for the fifth GOP debate hosted by CNN, however, only Haley and DeSantis are present at the debate in Iowa.

Haley and DeSantis began sparring from the very beginning of the debate, and the Florida Governor has shared “one good rule of thumb” against his fellow GOP candidate, which focuses on how if Haley “says she’s never said something, that definitely means she said it,” and the internet was quick to weigh in.

Ron DeSantis takes a dig at Nikki Haley

During the fifth GOP debate hosted by Jake Tapper and Dana Bash on CNN, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis asked the audience to go to his official website.

He said, “You can actually go to RonDeSantis.com because Nikki Haley has this tactic if you hold her accountable to her record, first she will say, ‘I never said that.’”

“Well, one good rule of thumb, if she says she’s never said something, that definitely means she said it, and then she will say…you’re lying, you’re lying…that means not only did she say it, but she’s on videotape saying it,” said DeSantis.

He continued “So we have all the greatest hits, and the reality is, Nikki Hakey is not somebody who is willing to stand in and fight on behalf of conservatives. You know, she ran for governor, saying she was going to do Universal school choice and she caved to the teacher’s union.”

Internet reacts to Ron DeSantis’ ‘rule of thumb’

After Ron DeSantis shared his "rule of thumb" against Nikki Haley, the internet's response was prompt. One user wrote, "Blah blah blah, you are polling in single digits Get a life," and another wrote, "Support Trump Ron!"

"There was a primary debate? Clearly didn’t attract much attention!" mocked one user, and another wrote, "Nikki is nearly your height man. Even with your elevator shoes."

One user wrote, "Its gonna be awkward when your handler tells you to be Nikki's VP," and another wrote, "You're both losing to Trump. Act like it."
