Ronald Dupree: Decorated Vallejo cop threatened ex after break-up, told her he knew how to dispose bodies
VALLEJO, CALIFORNIA: Vallejo police officer Ronald Dupree, 29, hailing from Dixon, finds himself at the center of a legal maelstrom following his arrest on Valentine's Day.
The arrest stems from a report filed by Dupree's ex-girlfriend with Oakland police, stating that after their relationship ended, the officer engaged in months of criminal threats and harassment, including conveying knowledge of how to dispose of a body.
Oakland police conducted a search at Dupree's Solano County residence, seeking three guns registered to him. They reportedly found and seized two firearms, as per law enforcement sources.
Victim details disturbing messages from ex-boyfriend
The alleged victim, Dupree's ex-girlfriend, a Bay Area woman, ended her relationship with the officer last summer. She claimed to have reported Dupree's behavior to Vallejo police at an unspecified time, receiving assurances that they would 'look into it'.
Subsequently, she received unsettling messages from a burner application, stating, "I hope calling Ronnie's job finally ran him away from you" and "you should've died a long time ago."
Who is Ronald Dupree?
Vallejo police, acknowledging the situation, have publicly confirmed that Dupree, who joined the force in 2020, is currently on administrative leave. They have refrained from making additional comments on the ongoing investigation.
Notably, Dupree received accolades last year, including the 'Mothers Against Drunk Driving Award' for arresting DUI drivers and the department's 'Medal of Courage', as per Mercury News.
Ex-girlfriend accuses Ronald Dupree of disturbing threats
According to Oakland police, the officers alleged unwanted attempts to rekindle the relationship escalated after the woman informed him that the dog they once shared was at the veterinarian. Dupree purportedly paid the vet bill but then demanded reimbursement or reconciliation, as recounted by the woman to the police.
Following this, Dupree reportedly bombarded her with numerous texts and calls, often from a blocked number. The woman alleges that her ex-boyfriend not only threatened her but also claimed knowledge of how to dispose of a body. Authorities further revealed that he threatened to file a missing person's report to locate her if she attempted to hide.
However, despite the serious nature of the charges, he has already been released from Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, with no formal charges filed as of now. The uncertainty lingers about whether his case will be forwarded to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office for further review.
