MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: A Milwaukee man stands accused of fatally shooting a mother of eight.
Ronald Fuller, 52, has been charged with first-degree reckless homicide with the use of a dangerous weapon for the April 1 death of Lakeyshia Timmons, 42.
Lakeyshia Timmons and Ronald Fuller were involved in a complex custody battle
A report of gunfire prompted police to respond to the intersection of North 18th St and West Hadley Starea just after 7.30 am on April 1. On arrival, officials found Timmons lying on the ground with two gunshot wounds to her abdomen.
Despite attempts by Milwaukee Fire Department personnel to revive Timmons, she was declared dead at the scene.
The criminal complaint states that Timmons and Fuller shared three children, who resided at the address, as per CBS 58.
During a conversation with a detective, one of the sons mentioned that his mother and Fuller were involved in a complex custody dispute and that Timmons had been given custody of the girls in November 2023.
The son also told police that early on April 1 morning, he was awakened by the sound of multiple gunshots coming from outside the house.
According to detectives, Timmons was approached by a limping man wearing a hoodie who they think is Fuller.
The complaint further states that surveillance footage from the scene appeared to show a person walking around with an apparent limp shortly before the shooting took place.
At approximately 7.33 am, the person supposedly pulled up to the south side of Timmons' house and exited the van.
Ronald Fuller admitted to shooting Lakeyshia Timmons
According to the complaint, detectives overheard the following encounter, "Ron, what the f**k you doing Ron, don't play with me Ron, don't play with me. Ron, Ron no, I am your baby momma dude, what the f**k is wrong with you Ron, Ron stop playing," as reported by CBS 58.
In the surveillance footage, nine gunshots were heard by the detectives.
On April 3, investigators spoke with Fuller, who informed them that he had no motive to do what he did and that nothing was on his mind at the time.
He claimed that just as Timmons arrived home, he was on the verge of leaving because he was worried that she would see him and he didn't want that to happen.
The complaint noted that Fuller acknowledged the shooting.
He said, "Yes, I did shoot her. Why? I don't have an answer," and claimed that he was forced to go to her house by the devil.
"He was not sure he hit her because he was born with fetal alcohol syndrome and he was nervous, so his aim was off," adds the complaint.
Fuller noted he only wanted to hurt Timmons and that he was doing it to protect the children. After carrying out the alleged shooting, he tossed the gun into a recycling container.
On Friday, April 5, a $250,000 cash bond was set for Fuller, who faces 65 years in prison. His preliminary hearing is set to be held on April 11.
