Ronny Jackson slammed as a 'pill pusher' as he accuses Biden of taking drugs, demanding test before debate
WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Ronny Jackson, formerly Donald Trump's White House physician, has made unverified claims suggesting President Joe Biden might be using drugs to remain "alert" and enhance his performance in the forthcoming presidential debate.
“I’m going to be demanding on behalf of many millions of concerned Americans right now that [Biden] submit to a drug test before and after this debate specifically looking for performance-enhancing drugs,” Jackson said.
Ronny Jackson accuses Joe Biden of using medications to manage a 'cognitive disorder'
The Texas Republican congressman appeared on Fox News' 'Sunday Morning Futures,' where he baselessly accused President Biden of using a mix of stimulants and other medications to manage what he alleged is a "cognitive disorder."
The baseless claim has gained traction on the right in efforts to discredit the president, according to Rolling Stone.
Notably, former President Trump, who has himself made notable gaffes in the past year, including referring to Barack Obama as the current president and mistakenly calling Ronny Jackson "Ronny Johnson."
In the interview, host Maria Bartiromo aired a clip of President Biden briefly stuttering while attempting to say Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas' name, which he correctly pronounced moments later.

Bartiromo implied this was an example of the president "appearing to forget" a name, but it could also be a manifestation of Biden's well-known stutter, a speech condition that, according to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, does not correlate with intellectual ability.
Ronny Jackson wrote letters to the White House requesting a drug test for President Biden
Jackson informed Bartiromo that he has dispatched several letters to the White House insisting on a drug test for the president and plans to send an additional one to request drug tests for Biden before and after the debate.
He did not specify if he has made a similar request for Trump to undergo drug screenings.
Furthermore, he speculated that Biden might have been under the influence of a substance during the State of the Union address earlier this year.
“There was a Joe Biden that came out that was not similar at all to what we see on a day-to-day basis for the last three-and-a-half years. And there’s surely no way to explain that other than he was on something. They’d given him medication,” Jackson claimed.
He then speculated that Biden would spend the following week at Camp David, adjusting the doses of certain alleged medications, for which, once again, there is no evidence.
“He’s going to be there at Camp David for a full week before the debate, part of that is probably experimenting with getting the doses just right,” Jackson alleged.
He added, “They have to treat his cognition, give him something to help him think straighter, to wake him up for his alertness and then, you know, he’s been agitated. We see that all the time. And that’s a common symptom or sign of this cognitive disorder that he seems to be suffering from.”
“What do you think President Biden’s issues are? What drugs I would they give him?” Bartiromo asked.
Ronny Jackson mentioned various medications for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's
Jackson listed numerous medications, encompassing those for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's treatment, as well as stimulants such as Adderall and Provigil, the latter being a potent stimulant utilized by military pilots to remain vigilant and alert during extended missions.
“I feel like they’re probably giving him a little bit of all of this, they just have to get it just right,” Jackson remarked.

The allegations might seem absurd if they weren't so serious. A report by the Defense Department's inspector general, released in January, detailed the lax oversight and poor record-keeping of Trump's White House Medical Unit in dispensing controlled substances.
The investigation revealed that the unit had ordered thousands of doses of modafinil, also known as Provigil.
In 2018, Donald Trump nominated Ronny Jackson for Secretary of Veterans Affairs
In March, Rolling Stone reported that the Trump White House was "awash in speed" and Xanax, with staff describing the White House Medical Unit as "like the Wild West," providing easy access to stimulants and sedatives for employees.
Trump had nominated Jackson, his White House physician, for Secretary of Veterans Affairs in 2018. However, Jackson withdrew from the nomination amid allegations of illegal prescription writing, rage outbursts, and drinking on the job.
Recently, The Washington Post reported that in 2022, Jackson was demoted from US Navy Rear Admiral to Captain following allegations of alcohol abuse at work, anger issues, and sexual harassment.
Despite this, Jackson continues to assert his Rear Admiral rank on his congressional website.
Internet criticizes Ronny Jackson for suggesting President Joe Biden might be using drugs
One netizen mocked Jackson saying, "LOL what a stupid publicity stunt. I AM WRITING A LETTER—WATCH OUT! I’m gonna write Ronny Jackson a letter demanding he take a drug test."
