TUCSON, ARIZONA: TMZ founder Harvey Levin on Friday, February 6, shared that a ransom note regarding the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie contains a specific clue that may pinpoint the kidnappers' location.
Speaking on 'Hannity', Levin explained that while the 84-year-old is "safe but scared," the kidnappers have claimed they will not send any further messages.
Harvey Levin highlights kidnappers said they are done communicating or negotiating
Harvey Levin explained to Sean Hannity that the letter sent to TMZ claims Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, is alive, although he is unsure if it's actually been sent by the kidnapper.
Levin stated, "I will say the letter begins — and again, we’re not sure that this is really written by the person who has Nancy — but I will say the letter begins by saying she is safe but scared."
However, the tone of the message is extremely firm, stating that no further negotiations will take place. He explained that the kidnappers claim Savannah's mother knows exactly what the demand is.
Through TMZ, they are telling the family and the sheriff’s department what they want, and they are asserting that Nancy is aware of it.
Levin told Hannity that he finds it interesting that they are saying this will be their only communication and they are done communicating or negotiating.
He mentioned that as time passes, the FBI and other authorities have become more desperate “because as far as we can tell, it’s impossible to trace the origin of this email.”
Harvey Levin points to kidnapper’s familiarity with Tucson area
Harvey Levin believes the specific way the note was written and the fact that it was also sent to a local news station reveal that the kidnapper is familiar with the area.
He stated, “There’s something very specific in there, and I’m sure the FBI keyed in on this a while ago, and it makes me think that whoever did this, whoever wrote this letter is in that Tucson area.”
He believes the person is familiar with the Tucson television market.
Levin further asserted that, based on the way the letter is written, he believes the kidnapper is in that wider Tucson area, though not necessarily in the city itself. He stated, “I believe that this is somebody in that wide Tucson area, not in Tucson, could be in New Mexico. They could be in New Mexico now, but they are definitely familiar with Tucson.”
