LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On a recent episode of 'The View', cohost Sara Haines criticized reporter Bret Baier's behavior during his Fox News interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.

After the interview aired on Wednesday, the panel discussed Baier's conduct, with Haines and former Trump communications staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin both voicing their concerns.

Alyssa Farah Griffin praises Kamala Harris' strategic appearance on Fox News

Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that Kamala Harris' decision to appear on Fox News was a strategic move, emphasizing that she aims to represent all Americans, including Fox viewers. "I think that it was smart that she showed up," Griffin said, calling the overall interview a "mixed bag" of wins and misses for Harris.

She highlighted that Harris "proved to Fox News viewers that she's not a moron like Trump has called her, she has a command of the facts, and she pushed back on this notion that she can't be tough." However, Griffin pointed out that Baier interrupted Harris excessively, a sentiment Haines echoed.

Sara Haines highlights gender bias in Bret Baier's interview with Kamala Harris

Sara Haines remarked, "The constant jumping in, I couldn't help but feel it's because she's a woman that he's going to keep doing this, so it got a little hard to watch at times."

She emphasized the importance of allowing candidates to define themselves, stating, "You allow yourself to define who you are; if they hear it from your mouth, people aren't just talking about it, so people are going to watch and see how she held her own."

Haines also expressed a wish that Harris had addressed the "misinformation and disinformation" she believes Fox News propagates, particularly given that she is running against someone who "continually shops in those conspiracy theories."

Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin reference tense moment on Bret Baier's interview

Both Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin referenced the notable moment from the interview when Bret Baier interrupted Kamala Harris as she attempted to answer a question about immigration. "May I finish responding, please? You have to let me finish, please," Harris said after Baier tried to speak over her response. "I'm in the middle of responding to the point you're raising, and I'd like to finish."

Haines and her cohosts, including Ana Navarro, have consistently called out misleading statements and unfounded claims made by political figures, including those by former president Trump.

Looking ahead, Joy Behar announced that the show will host Harris' VP candidate, Tim Walz, next week, continuing their series of high-profile political interviews that have recently included figures like Hillary Clinton, Harris, and President Joe Biden.
