Sarah Sanders predicts Karine Jean-Pierre may lose job amid Democratic 'meltdown' as Biden exit looms
WASHINGTON, DC: Arkansas Governor and former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders recently commented on the precarious position of President Joe Biden's press secretary.
Following a tumultuous three weeks since the first debate between Biden and Donald Trump, Sanders suggests that Karine Jean-Pierre might soon be out of a job, amid what she described as a Democratic "meltdown."
Increasing pressure on President Biden to withdraw from 2024 race
The 81-year-old President Joe Biden has faced increasing criticism and calls to withdraw from the 2024 race after a self-proclaimed "bad night" filled with gaffes during the debate. Over 20 elected Democrats have publicly urged Biden to step aside, and even former President Barack Obama has reportedly suggested that Biden "seriously consider" his candidacy.
Speculation is mounting that Biden could announce his withdrawal in a matter of days. Despite these pressures, Biden has publicly maintained his intention to remain the Democratic nominee, asserting that only God or a "medical condition" would force him to withdraw. Biden's recent positive Covid-19 test, which led to the cancellation of a campaign event, has further fueled concerns about his health.
Nevertheless, Jean-Pierre has faced backlash for misleading reporters about a Parkinson's expert visiting Biden and has had to correct several public statements regarding the president's health. At the Republican National Convention, Sanders advised Jean-Pierre to prepare for the possibility of losing her job.
"My best advice is brush up your resume because I don't think you're going to be in that position much longer," Sanders said.
She expressed satisfaction that the press corps is finally scrutinizing the Biden administration more closely. "I'm sad it took them three and a half years to get there. But you're finally seeing them kind of hold their feet to the fire and really push on things frankly, they should have been doing for the last three and a half years," reported Daily Mail.
Sarah Sanders feels confident in Trump's victory amid Democratic 'meltdown'
Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who served as Donald Trump's press secretary from 2017 to 2019 and was elected as Arkansas's first female governor in 2022, believes the Democratic Party is in "total meltdown."
However, she is confident that Donald Trump will win the upcoming election regardless of who the Democrats nominate. "I don't think it matters who's at the top of the ticket," she stated.
"Donald Trump is going to win and win big in November because people are tired of the failed leadership that they seem not just out of this administration, but out of that party." Sanders delivered a powerful speech at the GOP convention, recounting Trump's resilience after being struck by a bullet at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
"Not even an assassin’s bullet could stop him," she declared, emphasizing Trump's strength and courage. "I think everybody around the country will remember exactly where they were and how they saw that unfold, a truly heartbreaking moment," she stated.
"Not just for the president and the people that were there, but for the entire country. Because it wasn't just an attack on him. It was an attack on our entire democracy."
Sanders took a swipe at first lady Jill Biden's handling of her husband, comparing it to her own experience taking her 4-year-old son to "Bring Your Kid to Work Day." She humorously remarked that Jill Biden now drags Joe to "Bring Your Husband to Work Day," reported MEAWW.
Netizens react to Sarah Sanders' critique of Karine Jean-Pierre
Internet users have been abuzz with reactions to Sarah Huckabee Sanders' recent comments about the current state of the Democratic Party.
A social media user commented, "Trending and polls in American politics can turn on a dime and overnight, but I think that Sanders is correct. At this moment (and I say this as a former Dem, now an Independent), the Dems are in a 3-dimentional situation: dire, dismal and desperate, and I don't see any savior on the horizon, Joe or no."
A second said, "I doesn't matter who is at the top of the ticket for the dems because Obama will still dictate what the party does,"
A third claimed, "Karine-Jean never exactly displayed competence as press secretary, so it's time she go somewhere like The View."
"Don't worry Sweet Potatoes, I'm sure MSNBC will have a nice cushy job for you as compensation for your loyalty...," read a comment.
"The deception and cover up of Biden’s highly advanced dementia has been criminal. The democrats have put the security of our nation at great risk," penned an individual.
