Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ prison release date moved up again, could be out sooner

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NEW JERSEY: Sean “Diddy” Combs is once again closer to being released from prison, with his latest release date set for January 21, 2028, following several changes to his projected release timeline in recent months.

Combs is currently serving his sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs’ release date changes again

According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records, Combs release date from FCI Fort Dix is now January 21, 2028, with TMZ first reporting the update on Tuesday after Page Six had confirmed earlier this month that his release date would be February 5, 2028.

Before that, Combs’ release date had been moved up by several weeks from February 23, 2028, to January 24, 2028. The change came despite his July altercation with another inmate and subsequent stint in solitary confinement.

Earlier this month, however, his release date appeared to have been pushed back to February 20, 2028. His original release date had been set for June 2028.

According to TMZ, Combs was involved in an altercation over the summer after reportedly taking “matters into his own hands” following an insult. Multiple sources told the outlet that the two prisoners pushed each other during the alleged encounter.

An insider said Combs had “held his own” during the incident before prison staff separated the two inmates. Combs was subsequently placed in solitary confinement and later released, TMZ reported in August.

At the time, the Federal Bureau of Prisons told Page Six, “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not release information regarding the conditions of confinement for any inmate, including housing assignments, nor do we discuss whether a particular inmate is the subject of allegations, investigations, or sanctions.”

Combs was transferred from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to Fort Dix after being sentenced to 50 months in prison.

Combs has strenuously denied wrongdoing despite multiple ongoing lawsuits accusing him of a range of misdeeds. Meanwhile, his lawyers dropped the fashion designer earlier this month in his $100 million defamation lawsuit against NewsNation and others.

In documents exclusively obtained by Page Six, attorney Michael Tremonte of Sher Tremonte alleged that Combs “has not paid a substantial balance of attorney’s fees, costs, and expenses” and had been “in substantial arrears in paying Sher Tremonte’s legal fees” for six months.

The documents also accused Combs of failing to adequately participate in his own case, making their representation “unreasonably difficult.” They cited “Mr Combs’s lack of cooperation and communication” in an alleged “breakdown in the attorney-client relationship.”

The documents claimed Combs had “declined to make himself available for timely, substantive, and direct communications about his cases for over four months.” Combs pushed back in a statement to Page Six, saying he “made the decision to switch lawyers because I won’t let anyone take advantage of me by overcharging me and running up bills that were never approved.”

He added, “This is strictly a business matter, and any talk about unpaid fees is just part of our dispute over those unapproved charges.”
