LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sean Hannity recently voiced his opinion on the decision to mute former President Donald Trump's microphone during the upcoming presidential debate.

Hannity suggested that this move might surprisingly turn out to be advantageous for Trump.

Joe Biden's debate performance under scrutiny

In a segment on Hannity's show concerning the forthcoming CNN presidential debate between Trump and President Joe Biden, Hannity expressed concerns about Biden's performance.

“Whatever Joe drank, ate, took before the State of the Union – maybe it was just Red Bull and caffeine pills, I don’t know – whatever it was, that was not the normal Joe,” said Hannity. “We never saw it before and we haven’t seen it since, but we will see it for the debate,” he added.

He continued, “Now, there are some even saying, Mark, that Donald Trump might be wise to just pass on the first debate, wait until he’s nominated, then debate him. What would you say to that?” However, Mark Penn, the chairman of Harris Poll, argued against this notion, emphasizing that Trump had already accepted the challenge.

Mark Penn says Donald Trump backing out of debate would be 'cowardly'

Penn further said, “I’d say he accepted it. He accepted it in the lion’s den. If I were Donald Trump, I would have done some better negotiating here, but I don’t think he can back out now without really looking cowardly.”

Penn argued, “I think Biden has, you know, said he’s gonna meet the challenge. I think it’s a big test. Whether you think he’s jacked up or not, if he can get through that debate, he’ll lift his campaign, and if he can’t, I suspect it might actually be in some jeopardy.”

Hannity then suggested, “Joe might have done Donald Trump a favor, and I say this affectionately, by insisting that when it’s not his turn to speak that they mute his microphone, ’cause I think that was a mistake in the first debate in 2020.”

"The first presidential debate of 2020 was widely panned as one of the worst in history, with Trump repeatedly talking over Biden and refusing to let him speak," Hannity recalled. ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos had characterized it as "the worst presidential debate I have ever seen in my life," while CNN correspondent Dana Bash described the event as a "shitshow."

One user wrote, "So Hannity's floating the idea of Trump skipping the debate. Gee, I wonder from where he might have gotten that idea. Hannity opens his mouth and Trump's words come tumbling out."

Another one said, "So according to Hannity, President Biden will need to be 'hopped up' that night, while Trump will need to be muzzled to prevent him constantly interrupting and talking over Joe. JFC."

One user replied, "Even Hannity knows Trump talks out of his back end."

Another commented, "Sure, let's all look at trump flapping his big fat mouth with no audio. That won't make him look crazy at all."

One said, ""Gagging Trump is good for Trump!"- Hannity It's also good for the whole world."
