Sean Hannity ripped as he endorses discredited Trump hush money trial claim by 'professional s***poster'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Criticism was leveled against Sean Hannity for perpetuating a debunked myth on the June 7 episode of Fox News' 'Hannity' regarding Donald Trump's hush-money trial, suggesting that the former president's 34 convictions may have been manipulated.
Hannity discussed a "very unusual" letter from Judge Juan Merchan to attorneys involved in the case regarding a May 29 social media post that allegedly appeared on the New York State Unified Court System Facebook page from a juror's cousin.
Judge Juan Merchan shared the letter with Trump's defense attorneys and Manhattan prosecutors.
Sean Hannity asks if the letter was the 'cause for a mistrial'
The individual who made the post identified themselves on social media as a "professional s***poster," and Judge Merchan seemingly did not lend any credence to the post.
The post stated, "My cousin is a juror and says Trump is getting convicted. Thank you folks for all your hard work!!!!"
Despite its debunking, Hannity persisted in discussing it on his show.
"This is, by far, a very alarming development," Hannity remarked. "Was the fixing from the beginning? Is this cause for a mistrial?"
Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett joined Hannity in advocating for the credibility of the post.
"It also suggests that, perhaps before deliberations even began, the jurors had already decided to convict," Jarrett stated. "Impartiality is the centerpiece of our constitutional right for a fair trial."
Hannity chimed in, expressing his distrust of "Judge Merchan—AT ALL."
Sean Hannity receives widespread backlash for not fact-checking the post
Social media users swiftly mocked Hannity for giving credence to the post.

In a similar vein, another observer chimed in, "I love when Hannity embarrasses himself."
Moreover, a viewer highlighted, "This is not huge unless you are really really small. There is more meat in an oatmeal cookie than there is in this story."
Adding to the conversation, a follower contributed, "This might be nothing more than the Democrats' means of easy out since the conviction backfired on them."
A comment emphasized, "Does Hannity/Fox ever fact check anything before they start spreading conspiracy theories?Guess the lawsuits need to continue. 3/4 of a billion dollars didn't teach them to stop lying."
Echoing this sentiment, another comment noted, "Amazing how a Facebook troll dupes a "news" network."
Expanding on the topic, an individual elaborated further, saying, "Hannity, you loser, you've been punked."
One more comment red, "No, it’s not “huge”. You are such a Trumper cultist. Please go into some other line of work."
