WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News host Sean Hannity has sharply criticized the Democratic National Convention (DNC) for what he describes as a campaign fueled by animosity toward former president Donald Trump.

On his show 'Hannity,' he argues that the Democrats' primary strategy is to foster deep-seated hatred for Trump rather than presenting a positive and substantive vision for the future.

Vice President Kamala Harris accepted her nomination as the Democratic presidential nominee on the fourth and final day of the DNC on Thursday, August 22.

Sean Hannity claims DNC’s strategy is to exploit anti-Trump sentiment

Sean Hannity contends that the central theme of the DNC was to generate and exploit negative emotions towards Donald Trump, suggesting that this strategy pervades every aspect of the convention.

According to him, the Democrats are banking on the hope that voters' disdain for Trump will be so strong that it will overshadow their concerns about policies and issues that could affect their daily lives.

“Despite a promise of happiness and joy, the theme in this building all week has frankly been nothing but hatred and loathing,” Hannity said. He continued, “Democrats (are) hoping that you hate Donald Trump as much as they do and that has been, and remains, the theme every single night, and it will be so tonight.”

Hannity argued that the Democrats’ rhetoric is designed to distract voters from important issues such as economic policy, border security, law and order, and energy prices.

“They want you to hate Donald Trump so much, you will even vote against what is in your own best interest, policies that will improve the economy, secure our borders, bring back law and order, safety, and security to your town and city, and bring you lower energy prices and, of course, reestablish America's role in the world."

Hannity implied that this focus on Trump serves as a smokescreen to obscure the perceived failings of the Biden administration, particularly with regard to immigration policies.

In his critique, Sean Hannity highlighted what he views as significant problems within the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration’s approach to immigration.

He claimed that Democrats are downplaying or ignoring the challenges associated with illegal immigration, including issues related to border security and the implications of sanctuary cities.

“They hope that your hatred of Trump will blind you to the Biden-Harris border crisis,” Hannity said.

Hannity expressed skepticism about the Democrats’ proposals for providing benefits to undocumented immigrants. He criticized Kamala Harris' positions, such as the potential decriminalization of illegal immigration and the provision of legal driver's licenses and education benefits to undocumented individuals.

“People with known terror ties in this country, confirmed, people from countries with terror ties,” he said.

“Their hope is that you ignore all of the crime in small towns, big cities. They want you to ignore all of the unvetted Harris-Biden illegals that we know have been involved in raping, and murdering, and other violent crimes against Americans,” Hannity concluded.
