HENDERSONVILLE, TENNESSEE: The search for missing Tennessee teenager Sebastian Rogers has taken a perplexing turn as his mother, Katie Proudfoot, defends her decision to leave town amidst the ongoing efforts to locate her autistic son.

Sebastian, 15, disappeared from his home in Hendersonville a month ago, leaving his family and the community in a state of distress.

Katie Proudfoot is leaving Hendersonville despite ongoing search

However, as the search intensifies, his mother has announced her departure from Hendersonville to accompany her husband, Chris, back to work in Memphis. Despite the urgency of the situation, Proudfoot insists that her son "could be anywhere and we're looking everywhere and anywhere," justifying her decision to leave, per Daily Mail.

Further, Chris explained that the decision was made to resume work, although Proudfoot herself won't be returning to work just yet. The family, along with Sebastian's father Seth, and numerous volunteers, has tirelessly searched the area since his disappearance on February 26.

The search efforts have garnered support from various groups, including the Cajun Navy, a non-profit organization known for its disaster relief efforts. The Cajun Navy, which recently participated in the search for missing University of Missouri student Riley Strain, whose body was found in the Cumberland River on Friday, has now deployed drones and K9 units to aid in the search for Sebastian.

Footage appears to show two individuals with flashlights near teen's home

Along with the extensive search efforts, surveillance footage is also being analyzed, including a video captured near Sebastian's home on the day he went missing. The camera positioned at the rear of the house captured two distant light sources along with another closer to the house, identified as 'Subject One'. Meanwhile, a second light source, labeled 'Subject Two', briefly appears in the footage, moving toward 'Subject One' before disappearing behind bushes.

Shortly after, 'Subject One' exits the frame, followed by 'Subject Two' reappearing and trailing behind. Despite this footage, Sebastian's stepfather refuted its significance, stating on the YouTube channel Chronicles of Olivia, "Nothing that is being assumed right now is actually true about that video." "Everybody is trying to assume is a flashlight, I hate to say this: it's not. As much as we would love it to be one, it's not."
