Shala Lovett: Connecticut woman slashes man's face with pocket knife in terrifying road rage incident

WATERBURY, CONNECTICUT: Connecticut State Police announced the arrest of a woman on Friday, April 5 for reportedly slashing a man's face during a road rage incident on Interstate 84 westbound in Waterbury.
The woman was identified as 35-year-old Shala Lovett.
State police reported that at 9:23 pm, a trooper on duty from Troop A in Southbury observed two vehicles parked in a precarious position along the right travel lane of the exit 23 off-ramp.
Subsequently, a physical altercation was witnessed between a man and a woman.

According to Fox61, the altercation stemmed from a road rage incident on the highway. As the trooper approached to intervene, the woman reportedly struck the man, causing him to fall.
State police reported that the man sustained a "significant" facial laceration and was attended to by EMS at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Shala Lovett of Waterbury, was holding a pocket knife, which she dropped as the trooper escorted her to a safer location on the right shoulder of the exit.
State police stated that the pocketknife was later seized as evidence for the investigation.
Lovett resisted cooperation with the trooper's attempt to handcuff her, necessitating assistance from a second trooper, according to state police. She was arrested at 9:53 pm and taken to Troop A in Southbury, where she was charged with first-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
Lovett is currently held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Monday, as per state police.
NYPD releases footage after a man was stabbed on a Manhattan subway
According to the New York Post, a man was stabbed during a violent altercation on a Manhattan Subway in the early hours of Sunday morning, April 7, 2024.
The 34-year-old victim was traveling on a northbound E-train through midtown when he was attacked and stabbed in the back.
It was revealed that the victim and the assailant were acquainted prior to the incident.
The motive behind the brawl remains unclear. As the train slowed to a stop at 53rd and Lexington, the attacker fled the scene accompanied by two friends, boarding a Queens-bound train.
The victim was promptly transported to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Notably, the affected trains were taken out of service due to the presence of blood in the train carriage. Law enforcement officials launched a search for the suspect, offering a $3,500 reward for any information leading to an arrest.
The NYPD released surveillance footage of the suspect and urged the public to provide tips by calling the designated hotline before 11 pm.
