LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The internet is ablaze with criticism for conservative commentator Tomi Lahren, who declared the Republican-led impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden as officially dead during a recent appearance on Fox News' 'Media Buzz'.

Lahren suggested that Republicans should abandon the investigation and focus on attacking Biden's policies to secure a victory in the upcoming general election.

Optics of impeachment inquiry criticized

According to the Daily Beast, In her interview with host Howard Kurtz, Lahren expressed her belief in the existence of sufficient evidence but emphasized that the optics of the impeachment probe were failing for Republicans.

She pointed out that the media framed it as an attack on someone with addiction issues, referring to Hunter Biden, a central figure in the investigation.

Lahren concluded that the inquiry was "falling flat" with both viewers and voters, urging Republicans to shift their focus to the election and criticize Biden's policies.

"I gotta say, as somebody who does believe there’s plenty of evidence here, I think that this has failed optically for Republicans," Lahren said during her appearance on Fox News. "And they’ve done good work—obviously Jim Jordan, Comer have done great work on this."

Despite acknowledging the efforts of certain Republicans, Lahren emphasized the negative optics surrounding the impeachment probe. "Optically, it does make it seem as though they’re beating up on someone with addiction issues," she continued, referencing Hunter Biden. "That’s exactly what the media wanted it to look like. That’s how they framed it. And unfortunately, that’s what’s coming to fruition."

Tomi Lahren calls for course correction

Tomi Lahren, who hosts 'Tomi Lahren Is Fearless' on the conservative sports network OutKick, concluded that the inquiry was “falling flat” with both viewers and voters. “So I would encourage Republicans—I know you want to get to the bottom of this—but let’s focus on the election,” she said. “Let’s focus on the failed policies of Joe Biden.”

The controversial statement by Lahren drew attention on social media, with Rep Eric Swalwell (D-CA) retweeting a clip of the segment and commenting that even Tomi Lahren believes the impeachment inquiry is over.

"The investigation is now staggering into its 14th month, with Republicans yet to produce any compelling evidence of the president’s alleged wrongdoing out of dozens of hours of interviews and more than 100,000 pages of documents," revealed a statistic given by a House Oversight Committee source to CBS News last week.

Hunter Biden's recent six-hour testimony before two Republican-led House committees did little to sway the direction of the inquiry. He vehemently denied any involvement or profit on the part of Joe Biden in his business ventures.

Witness indicted

The investigation faced a setback when a key witness, former FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, was indicted for providing federal agents with fake claims about the Bidens' supposed corruption. Smirnov, who later claimed to have contacts within Russian intelligence, threw a shadow over the credibility of the investigation.

On Wednesday, Hunter Biden testified for more than six hours before two Republican-led House committees, vehemently maintaining that Joe Biden was never involved in nor profited from his business ventures.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, asserted that Smirnov's arrest marked the end of the inquiry "in substance if not in form."

But Republicans insist on continuing their pursuit of a smoking gun, maintaining the investigation's relevance even as some acknowledge its conclusion.

Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) recently stated that it's clear the investigation was over long ago, emphasizing the disparity in perspectives on the impeachment probe's status.

Public reaction on social media unveils diverse opinions

One user wrote, "Tomi Lahren is a self-serving b****ch. She’s beyond irrelevant."

"Certainly the reporting in the corporate press has fallen flat," another added.

One replied, "Definitely not the results the GOP or the voters were looking for. Just shows how divided the GOP really is."

Another user commented, "It fell flat because the GOP sat on it for too long. But that's what Republicans do."

A user replied, "Actually it’s not. It’s all intertwined."
