MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: In a recent monologue on his late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel delved into the perplexing world of American politics, where the specter of former President Donald Trump looms large despite a barrage of criticisms and disavowals from former allies.

Kimmel said during the show, "Here on Earth there were presidential primaries in four states yesterday. Biden and Trump won the ball but Trump somehow, the ghost of Nikki Haley, continues to plague."

Jimmy Kimmel pokes fun at Trump's persistent popularity despite criticism

Kimmel continued by highlighting a curious trend, "Trump like an undigested chalupa he Haley got uh 133 per cent of the Republican vote in New York," adding, "More than 20 per cent of Republicans in Wisconsin didn't vote for Trump."

With a humorous metaphor, Kimmel points out Haley's unexpected dominance in Republican primaries, capturing 133 per cent of the vote in New York and significant percentages elsewhere.

Despite these setbacks, Trump maintains a stronghold within the Republican Party.

In that light, Kimmel said, "But not only is he still the front runner according to a new Wall Street Journal poll, but Trump also leads Biden in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania all important states which just gives me a headache."

"How could this be? I mean he doesn't even lead in a poll of people who worked for him," asked Kimmel in surprise.

From Michael Cohen's blunt assessment of Trump as "an idiot" to Mark Esper's declaration of his unfitness for office, Kimmel laid bare the chorus of criticism that surrounded the former president.

The series of denouncements from figures such as former Defense secretaries, Chief of Staff, Attorney General, and Secretary of State painted a damning portrait of Trump's leadership, as portrayed by Kimmel.

Another person wrote, "The crowd in Wisconsin was a lot smaller than when Dumpster first ran for POTUS. Minimal enthusiasm for the Dumpster."

On the other hand, one more comment read, "All of those people that worked directly with Trump say that he is basically the worst person to be President, but none of them stood up for our country while he held the job - they bowed down to him, which only made matters worse."
