LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel recently voiced his incredulity over the latest polling data showing President Trump leading Joe Biden in several crucial swing states. The comedian, known for his sharp wit and political commentary, expressed his frustration during a segment on his show 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

Kimmel humorously lamented, "Not only is he still the front-runner, according to a new Wall Street Journal poll, Trump leads Biden in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, all important states, which just gives me a headache. How could this be?"

He quipped, "Trump doesn’t even lead in a poll of people who worked for him."

Dissecting Wall Street Journal's poll

The Wall Street Journal's findings, released on Tuesday, April 2, revealed Trump's lead in six out of seven swing states, with leads ranging from 2 to 8 percentage points. The poll considered third-party and independent candidates, where Trump maintained similar leads even in head-to-head matchups against Biden.

However, Wisconsin emerged as an anomaly, with Biden reportedly leading by 3 points in the multi-candidate ballot, though tied with Trump in a one-on-one scenario. The report highlighted that while both candidates faced public scrutiny, Biden's unfavorable ratings were notably higher.

The report also noted, "Both candidates carry a tarnished image into the race, but voters view Biden more unfavorably."

Furthermore, when asked about the candidates' physical and mental fitness for the presidency, respondents leaned towards Trump, with 48% favoring him over Biden's 28%.

It elaborated, "Asked to choose which candidate has the better physical and mental fitness to handle the White House, 48% pick Trump and 28% say Biden. One result is that Biden is having a harder time holding together his 2020 coalition, with declining support among Black, Hispanic and young voters."

Internet split over Kimmel's remarks, presidential race

In response to the latest developments in the presidential race, social media platforms have become a battleground of opinions and reactions.

One user wrote, "It's cute watching fascists defend Trump...even after he will be in jail."

Another added, "Jimmy Kimmel was always a 20 watt bulb."

One user wrote, "Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy, what’s not to understand, you, Robert DiNero and other deranged Hollywood lunatics are a good part of the helping to send Trump back to the presidency."

Another replied, "Give it up Jimmy, you can't save him now. Find something else to leach onto."

One user wrote, "It's because you are among the blind minority of the rich who have yet to experience and feel the negative impact of paying more for everything under the suppression of Bidenomics Kimmel."
