PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Former President Donald Trump sparked controversy once again during a billionaire's fundraiser in Palm Beach, where he implied that President Joe Biden had defecated on the Resolute Desk.

The event, hosted by investor John Paulson on Saturday night, April 6, became a platform for Trump to criticize Biden's policies, particularly his approach to immigration.

Trump's critique of Biden's policies

According to a source who spoke with The New York Times, Trump's remarks came during a 45-minute presentation where he lambasted Biden's border policy and mocked his decision-making behind the historic Resolute Desk, a gift to the United States by Queen Victoria in 1880.

"The Resolute Desk is beautiful," Trump began, reminiscing about past presidents who had used it, including Ronald Reagan. However, his tone shifted to one of disdain as he suggested the desk had been "soiled" by Biden, both figuratively and, as many interpreted, literally.

"And he's using it. I might not use it the next time. It's been soiled. And I mean that literally, which is sad," Trump remarked, eliciting laughter from the attendees, who interpreted his words as an accusation that Biden had defecated on the desk.

Trump's comments were part of a broader critique of Biden's immigration policy, which he characterized as allowing undesirable elements into the country. He described migrants as coming from "prisons and jails" and from countries he previously referred to as "shithole countries."

"And when I said, you know, why can't we allow people to come in from nice countries, I'm trying to be nice," Trump said. "Nice countries, you know like Denmark, Switzerland? Do we have any people coming in from Denmark? How about Switzerland? How about Norway?"

Trump drew backlash after accusing migrants of "poisoning the blood of the country" and reiterating such comments during a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan last week.

"Under Crooked Joe Biden, every state is now a border state. Every town is now a border town because Joe Biden has brought the carnage and chaos and killing from all over the world and dumped it straight into our backyards," he said.

The former president's concerns about immigration have been echoed by some conservative politicians, including Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn, who has accused Biden of facilitating a surge in violent crime through his open-border agenda.

"As a direct result of this open-border agenda, gang members from around the world are entering America and setting up their operations, endangering police officers, families, and public safety," Blackburn said.

However, statistical data suggests a different narrative. FBI reports indicate a decline in nationwide crime in 2023, including a 13 percent decrease in homicides compared to the previous year. Additionally, studies have shown that undocumented immigrants are less likely to commit violent crimes than native-born citizens.

Social media reactions

Despite the lack of evidence supporting Trump's claims about Biden's 'soiling' the Resolute Desk, social media erupted with reactions.

"Sorry, he did what?!" one posted on X.

"I wouldn’t be surprised tbh," another wrote.

"He must know something we don't," someone else added.

"I really hope this isn't true, but I can honestly say I would believe it off it was with no questions," a comment read.

"Is there a time of day Biden isn’t soiling himself? Just feel sorry for the secret service agent who has to change his bed sheets," another chimed in.

While this isn't the first time such accusations have been made against Biden, they remain unsubstantiated rumors. Similar claims surfaced during his meeting with the Pope in 2021 and during his debate with Trump, but no concrete evidence has been presented to support them.
