The reality star, 42, made the comment on Tuesday, June 30, while reposting an article by The New York Post with the headline, “Ghastly video shows 'Lilo & Stitch' actress Daveigh Chase wasting away on Skid Row months before death.”
Daveigh Chase's death was first confirmed by her alleged boyfriend
Chase was reportedly living as a homeless person before her death. It was her alleged boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, who first confirmed her death and also claimed that she died of meningitis and a blood infection.
Hernandez even launched a fundraiser before the 'Lilo & Stitch' star died to get help with her medical and living expenses. He had reportedly written, “Daveigh Chase, my girlfriend, has always been a light in my life... But behind the scenes, she’s faced more than her share of hardship.”
Daveigh Chase's fundraiser slammed by her ex-manager
But after the June 16 tragedy, the actress' former manager and longtime friend slammed the fundraiser and insisted, “A man claiming to be Daveigh's boyfriend has launched a GoFundMe page purportedly on behalf of Daveigh and her family. Neither her family nor her close friends know who this person is.”
“I can confirm Daveigh has a SAG trust account with more than enough funds to cover all medical and related expenses,” he added.
Daveigh Chase's mother could not believe her daughter's death news initially
Meanwhile, after Chase’s death, her mother Cathy claimed that she was “devastated”.
She also revealed that initially she “thought it was fake news” but “then all of a sudden, it's all of these different legitimate sites had her name and I realized that it wasn't fake.”
“It felt like something inside of me squeezing all of the air out of me, and at the same time, it felt like I was exploding outwardly,” Cathy asserted.
The heartbroken mother also revealed that she got to see her daughter after years when she went to identify her body at the hospital on June 18. A chaplain also joined her.
“We were able to lay hands and pray. Technically, we were touching the glass, but it's as close as we could get, so we were able to lay hands and pray for her. It was a beautiful experience, and I feel very blessed, too, to have been able to share that with my daughter,” she added.
