WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden called for an emergency meeting with the leaders of the G7 countries on Sunday, April 14, the New York Post reported.

This came after Biden reportedly told Israel that the US would not participate in any counterstrike after Iran's drone attack

Iran's attack is considered to be in retaliation for an alleged Israeli airstrike on an Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, on April 1 that resulted in the death of seven members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Speaking at an emergency session of the UN Security Council, US Deputy Ambassador to the UN Robert Wood stated, "Let me be clear: If Iran or its proxies take actions against the US or further action against Israel, Iran will be held responsible."

In an X (formerly Twitter) post, the White House wrote, "President Biden spoke by secure video with the leaders of the G7 today. The leaders condemned Iran's unprecedented attack against Israel and reaffirmed the G7's commitment to Israel's security."

A photo showed the commander-in-chief sitting with the Secretary of State Antony Blinken in the meeting, with leaders of other G7 countries, including the UK, France, Canada, Germany, and Japan, appearing on a screen behind them.

The incumbent shared a similar picture through his official X account, stating, "Today, I convened my fellow G7 leaders to discuss Iran’s unprecedented attack against Israel. We will continue to work together to stabilize the situation in the region and avoid further escalation."

One asked, "Why’d you destabilize the region in the first place?" and another questioned, "What about Israel’s unprecedented attack on Iran ?"

"How about stabilize our border," expressed a person, while someone else noted, "America is too obsessed about the security of a foreign country when our veterans are sleeping on the streets and U.S. cities are facing high crime rates."

An individual declared, "The only way you can help this situation is to stay out of it."
