Earlier this week on December 23, Stefen White fatally shot his neighbor following a dispute over lingering dog poop in their shared backyard.

According to a report from the Knoxville Police Department, the altercation stemmed from White's alleged failure to clean up after his dogs, leading to a verbal argument between him and the unidentified neighbor who shares the property.

The report claimed, "The victim and the defendant got into a verbal altercation over the defendant not cleaning up after his dog pooped in the yard."

White asserted that the victim had punched him in the face, escalating the situation. However, police noted that witness interviews did not support this claim.

An affidavit states, "The defendant pulled a handgun on the victim and shot him in the chest, causing the victim’s death."
