WASHINGTON, DC: Stephen A Smith slammed Democratic Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jasmine Crockett while arguing that Republicans are having a "field day" with all the coverage progressive Democrats are receiving.

He added that while he may not agree with everything President Donald Trump does, some Democrats on Capitol Hill have taken their rhetoric about the president too far, adding that their antics will not "work to the benefit of the Democratic Party."

Stephen A Smith says 'Republicans are having a field day'

The ESPN commentator, on Friday, August 8, said on 'Real Time,' "When you listen to Jasmine Crockett or an AOC and the way they talk about them, even an Elizabeth Warren to a lesser degree or what have you, the Republicans are having a field day."

"They're like, 'Put them up on the screen. Let's show them.' They plaster them all over the place," he added.

Smith also talked about NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, noting that while New Yorkers might vote for him, "America won't."

He said, "In a general election, you are going to fall if you are anti-America, if you are anti-capitalism, and you want to embrace extreme leftism and socialism."

Smith also said that "they want you scared to say that you're not scared," assuring that he is not afraid to challenge progressives like AOC, Crockett, or Mamdani.

Meanwhile, talk show host Dr Phil, who was also present on the show's panel, agreed with Smith's take that Americans are no longer scared of voicing their political beliefs.

He said, "Middle America, the heartland, that 80% of America, the heartland of America, is finding their voice, and they're not going to be scared. They need to speak up and say what they believe."

'Real Time' host Bill Maher added that Smith and Dr Phil may be the "unity ticket" that people are looking for.

Internet sides with Stephen A Smith

Several internet users sided with Stephen A Smith as he ripped Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jasmine Crockett while arguing that Republicans are having a "field day" with all the coverage progressive Democrats are receiving.

An online comment read, "Conventional wisdom says you have to run to the MIDDLE during the general election. Dems ignored that conventional wisdom and have been running to the left to 'energize' their base," while one added, "Now all Smith needs to do is figure out a way to convince voters to oust people like Crockett and AOC. If the Dem Party had better messaging and ideas, maybe these two in particular would never have been elected."

A person also stated, "As long as Schumer, Schiff, Pelosi, take a back seat to AOC, Crockett, the Democrat Party will be unpopular overall. Might be stuck at 30% forever," whereas one mentioned, "True. Keep blabbing AOC and Crockett. Of course it's not just your antics, but the Dems policies that are killing it in the minds of voters."

A user also wrote, "AOC and Jazzy live for fame. Neither has done anything to help their Districts. It is laughable that they believe they have a shot at a National campaign," while one commented, "They are the best advertisement to vote Republican. That’s why I donate to AOC’s campaign."
