LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a heated exchange on Friday's episode of 'The View', host Alyssa Farah Griffin expressed her strong disapproval after being compared to Michael Cohen, former lawyer, and fixer for Donald Trump.

The discussion arose during a segment on Trump's ongoing criminal fraud trial, with Cohen scheduled to testify on Monday. Farah Griffin voiced concerns about Cohen's credibility, given his past convictions and imprisonment for crimes related to Trump.

'The View' hosts clash over comparisons

Joy Behar, another host on the show, drew parallels between Farah Griffin and Cohen, noting their shifts in allegiance towards Trump. However, Farah Griffin vehemently rejected the comparison, emphasizing that she has never committed perjury, unlike Cohen, and has testified against Trump under oath.

She underscored the importance of credibility, particularly in a courtroom setting, where Cohen's history of deception could undermine his testimony.

"No, it’s not!" Farah Griffin bit back. "I’ve never perjured myself on a stand! I testified against Donald Trump under oath."

Behar then backpedaled and argued that she was simply trying to convey that people change their minds, particularly on Trump. That prompted Farah Griffin to once again point out that her concerns are about how credible Cohen will be to a jury, considering he’s lied before and gotten caught.

"By the way, I think Trump did it!" Farah Griffin added. "I just don’t think they’ve proved it yet."

From Donald Trump's confidante to key witness

The mention of Michael Cohen in the context of Trump's trial sheds light on his significant role as a key witness, CBS News sources indicate that Cohen is slated to take the stand on Monday

Once a close confidante of Trump, Cohen has since become one of his most vocal critics, documenting his experiences with the former president through various mediums like books, podcasts, and social media.

This transformation has strained Trump's relationship with Cohen, leading to public spats and legal battles.

As Trump's trial progresses, prosecutors anticipate Cohen's testimony to provide crucial insights into Trump's involvement in fraudulent activities. Specifically, Cohen is expected to testify about Trump's knowledge of falsified records related to reimbursement payments, particularly those linked to the Stormy Daniels scandal.

Despite efforts to silence Cohen, including a gag order imposed on Trump, he continues to speak out about the case, prompting admonishments from the judge.
