NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Senator Lindsey Graham has slammed President Joe Biden's timing in responding to the deadly drone strikes last week, suggesting that the US provided Iraq and Syria with "weeks notice."

Following this, Graham took to X, formerly known as Twitter to share his conversation with ‘Fox News Sunday’ as many people on the internet took a brutal jab at the senator.

Lindsey Graham calls out Joe Biden on Middle East strikes

Senator Lindsey Graham took to X and wrote, “Our national security is in free fall. We are continuing to see escalations with Iran because we have lost deterrence under @JoeBiden.”

Graham appeared on ‘Fox News Sunday’ where he argued that this advance notice resulted in only the death of an individual who was unaware of the impending counter-attack, referring to the person as "some dumbass."

He said, “If the goal is to deter Iran, you’re failing miserably. If the goal is to protect American troops, you’re not achieving your goal.”

“If you’ve convinced Iran you don’t want a wider war, they believe you. ‘Oh, I don’t want a war with you,’ they got the message…they’re not afraid of us. They were afraid of [former President] Trump.”

The Biden administration faced criticism from certain GOP lawmakers who contended that the US response to last week's drone strike was not prompt enough. The series of airstrikes initiated by the US military against Iranian-backed groups in Syria and Iraq began last Friday.

This action was in retaliation for an attack on a base in Jordan the previous week, which resulted in the deaths of three American troops and injuries to approximately 40 others.

The strike intensified the pressure on Biden to take decisive measures against these groups. Throughout the week, the White House had consistently asserted that such actions would be taken at a time of their choosing.

In this regard, Graham added, “We need to change our policy. People are not afraid of us. This idea of hitting hundreds of targets…that doesn’t matter. The only Iranian we killed in Syria or Iraq…is some dumbass that doesn’t know to get out of the way.”

He continued, “We gave them a weeks notice, so if there’s another round of strikes coming, I hope they really will hurt Iran in their pocketbook or their leadership because if you don’t, nothing changes.”

Furthermore, Graham expressed concerns on Sunday, highlighting what he perceives as a decline in US national security.

He pointed to events such as the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas, asserting that the country's national security “is in free fall.”

Graham argued for a more assertive approach, suggesting that the US target elements valued by Iran's Ayatollah, potentially including his leadership team or oil business, to address perceived national security challenges.

He said, “If we hit their oil business, we don’t need manned aircraft. They’ve got four refineries you can see from space. If you knock one of them out, that would stop this.”

Internet rips Lindsey Graham, says 'stop with the nonsense'

Many X users took a brutal jab at Lindsey Graham.

One person wrote, “People like you care less about US.Perhaps because of s**t hits the fan you got nothing to loose.Could have been different if you were a family man,” and another said, “Lindsey you’re barely relevant now that Trump has you compromised.”

An X user simply slammed Graham, “Can another remember when Lindsey Graham was credible and respected? No, me neither,” and another added, “Lindsey, you sold out long ago.”

One more person called out the senator, “What a horrible person you are to betray Biden after you said Biden was a great man and a good friend ! You know he is doing a good job and he comes with great diplomatic experience, you in the other hand are filled with disinformation hyperbole!”

Another added, “Lindsey please stop with the nonsense!”
