Internet divided as Gypsy Rose Blanchard reveals her mental state while plotting mother's murder
LOAUISANA, UNITED STATES: Gypsy Rose Blanchard has once again captivated social media, as she shared thoughts about her mental state and feelings of 'desperation' during the planning of her late mother, Dee Dee Blanchard's murder, with People.
Social media users recently criticized Gypsy after she voiced her desire to enlist Kim Kardashian's support for promoting prison reforms.
Gypsy also garnered praise recently for standing up for her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson, against online hate.
Interestingly, attention recently shifted to Gypsy's husband, with some keen observers noting a striking physical resemblance between him and Gypsy's late mother, Dee Dee.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard states she regrets killing her mother
According to a recent report by People, Gypsy, who was released from prison last week, revisited her mindset when she, along with her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn, conspired to kill her mother in June 2015.
In an interview with People, Gypsy disclosed, “It was panic, desperation. Because I was facing yet another surgery pretty soon, and I really did not want to have the surgery.”
For years, Dee Dee had subjected Gypsy to unnecessary medical procedures and convinced others that Gypsy had various illnesses.
Reflecting on the impending surgery before her mother’s death, Gypsy told People, “It was work on my neck, something about my voice and my vocal cords and my voice box, to figure out why my voice is so high-pitched. And they thought the doctors attributed that to maybe a breathing issue. So they were going to do surgery on my larynx, and at that point, I was just not having it. I'm like, ‘I do not want to have the surgery.’ I expressed that to my mother.”
Gypsy explained to People that there was 'no debating' with her mother about whether she would undergo the procedure. Gypsy stated, "She's like, ‘You're having it,’ and that's it. There's no discussion to be had. And I felt in my heart, please change your mind. This life needs to change. It's not like I didn't think about every other option besides murder. I did."
According to People, Gypsy also revealed that, along with being forced into another unnecessary surgery, she was enduring mental and physical abuse at the time of her mother’s murder. Gypsy admitted to asking Godejohn to kill her mother, which he did while she waited in the bathroom of their Missouri home.
In the interview with People, Gypsy expressed deep regret for her actions leading to her mother’s death. She stated, "If I had another chance to redo everything, I don't know if I would go back to when I was a child and tell my aunts and uncles that I'm not sick and mommy makes me sick.
Or, if I would travel back to just the point of that conversation with Nick and tell him, 'You know what, I'm going to go tell the police everything.' I kind of struggle with that."
Gypsy emphasized, "Nobody will ever hear me say I'm glad she's dead or I'm proud of what I did. I regret it every single day," as per People.
